I am getting ready to move and I will give away all of my old Signcraft magazines except for a select few. I have almost every issue back to the first one in 1980. I don't know if I could sell them and I don't want to throw them out but if someone in the greater San Diego area wants them you can come and get them. If you are farther away and want me to ship them, well that's work and I've already got enough of that right now. Any takers?

Doug, I think the greater S.D. area includes Hawaii, but Dawn was first. Actually I thought of her and called her right after I posted that. I'm happy to give these to someone who really has an interest in this craft and a strong desire to learn. I subscribed to SignCraft in 1980 right after they started up. I heard about it from a guy I met who was painting signs in garage in an alley near Mission Beach in San Diego. I was trying to teach myself to letter at the time and there weren't many sources of information. He happened to be a member of the Hells Angels motorcycle club. I can't remember his name and I never saw him again, but that chance meeting changed the direction of my life.

I'm gonna have to get rid of mine, in order to move. Have a milk-crate full thru most of the 1980s, I think. If anyone is interested, I'll make a list.

I will have a lot of freedom as soon as I sell my house, hopefully in a couple of months. As I get closer to having to decide I'm thinking I might just roam around in a motorhome for awhile. I have an invitation to stay In New York City where a friend has an apartment she would rent to me. I've always been blown away by that city but I don't think I could stay long, Its pretty loud. I keep coming back to thinking about Precott, Arizona so I'll most likely go there and buy a house. I have friends there and I've always liked the climate and atmosphere. I've had enough of the sign business, It's what I know best, but allergies to paint have made it difficult and its just time to do something else. I like it up there in Northern Cal and Oregon but I did that already in the 80s, the only time I've lived away from here. Its strange I'm not really worried about it, I'll figure something out.

Typical Cardiff attitude Chuck! Everyone I know that lives in that area has that low stress attitude. I'm sure you will find somewhere perfect. Best of luck. I'll give you a call soon, gotta hang with Dad tomorrow. -Marek

I also had to unload my collection of Signcraft and DrCas bought them and had me ship them, as a present, to Kissy, who, like Dawn, will make a fine receipient of these mags, one of the greatest sources of encouragement and reference material you could wish for. Ya did good Chuck, go Dawn.
Chuck, was that HA about six foot, blonde and went by "Crazy Lee"?
Prescott's nice, or it was, haven't been there in years,I really like the mtns. in that area. You and Burns can look for arrowheads together...should still be some decent fishing around there too!!!
Good luck...

Frank, No, he had a name like Chop or Hog or something I'd probably know if I heard it. I remember he had all these chicks in bikinis helping him, bringing him food & drinks & stuff.
