Rush job...
small sandblasted redwood sign
the background needs to be painted..
So in my brilliance..
I opt to slop on a way heavy coat
of latex..so's I dont gotta clean a
spray gun....those grooves are such a
PIA..
any way..Im gonna slop on the latex..
then sneek up on the sign
outdoors...with an air hose..and
175 lbs of air..and blow off the excess..
Im old enuff and wise enuff..to stay low
so I dont cover myself....glasses and all..
huh....
that din work so pretty good...
well it worked good....but
I dont look good...Green....
you can laugh now...

Latex is a real PITA to get off'n yer glasses.
Ask me how I know.
Don't feel bad, I was trying to be Miss Efficient and was deleting stuff on my computer.
It's taken Stevo more than a day to repair the damage I did!
And I lost most of my files, too.
DUH! At least it's not my sign computer.
Where you near Whitey by any chance?

No, Jill- Whitey's in Victoria, Bushie's in Queensland. The longitude of their places is about the same, but the latitude is about 1600km apart!

Ever watch Mr. Bean?

In the skit where he's trying to paint his apartment, he gets the bright idea to put a stick of fireworks in the can of paint, wraps all the furniture and stuff in newspaper, lights it and.....reminds me of that. [Rolling On The Floor]

Been there, done that. Sounds like I didn't have the mess you did though. I was using oil stain only I sprayed it on so I could cover a bunch of signs real fast, then work it in with a brush. I figured I could save all that brush dipping time. Well of course I sprayed it on way too thick then tried blowing it off. The first shot of air told me this wouldn't work very well. I ended up standing the signs on edge and used the brush to brush out the excess.

I gave up on latex because the redwood I was getting had such a tight grain there is no way you could get latex in those grooves no matter how long you worked it.
