Chris, #155 is high tac stencil. We use it for bare HDU and wood. We use #153 for slick surfaces like pre-painted wood or HDU. Are you sandblasting the Extira? What is that made of? Does it blast well? Wayne

You can try our S425, which is our Regular Grip Adhesive SandMask. It is 25 mils thick and should adhere well and NOT pull up material when blasted. Please let me know if I can be of further help.

I've been working with Extira for a few months and have a couple of suggestions.
You may have noticed that the surface is soft. We had a couple of failures early on with paint adhesion. After several tests, we followed the advice of a contributor, which was a wash coat of epoxy, thinned down with lacquer thinner. That works very well. We have also hardened it up with fiberglass resin also thinned down. From there most any primers will work fine.
We've tried several times to sandblast Extira, with little success. It may be able to be sandblasted, but it is very resistant to sand and the resulting texture leaves much to be desired.
I know the manufacture show SB examples but Man it must have taken lots of time. Even on our big twin screw it's slow to cut.
Hope I didn't rain on the parade, but thought you should be fore warned.
O, about glue. We tested several glue products. All the tests failed, not because of the adhesive, they worked fine, it was the soft top surface of the material that failed. All of the glue's held tight but Extira flakes apart.
All that said, we still love it for it's great carving characteristics, and when sealed up it's good for a long time.
