Thank you so much to everyone who has donated time, shipping, effort, etc. This even means more to us now than ever, as both fire stations were recently burglarized. Someone stole the key out of the fire engine at the old barn where Station #2 is being built, as well as taking a radio, gas and generally wreaking havoc. Then, at Station #1, a few days later, someone broke the lock on a gas tank and took 20 gallons, leaving the remaining 230 gallons to pour onto the ground (and we just had the tank filled). We're all just hearbroken that something like this would happen, just as fire season is starting, and to an all volunteer dept. We can't respond in the lower end of our district until the fire engine is re-keyed and a new radio is purchased, at the least. Then, of course, hazmat clean-up has to be done on the gas spill. The local newspaper ran two articles and the outpouring of donations from the local community has been overwhelming. But still, hazmat may run upwards of $30,000. We're not sure how much our insurance will pay. So you see, at this point, we could ill-afford signs or shipping. So your donations mean yet even more right now!! Everytime I think of you guys, I get tears in my eyes. I just can't wait to present the signs to the Board and volunteer Firefighters. They've seen the sign, and are really excited about it. They LOVE it!!
