Let's take Serge's idea and get a "Sign of the month" happening here again.
I will put my hand up to colate it with Barb & Steve's permission. Got a few minutes each morning before the sparrows wake up.
But, we gotta keep it light-hearted. Fun thing!
At this stage the best thing you will "win" is the accolades of your peers here, or the world-wide scorn "I coulda dun dat better"! Plus an "official" Letterville Certificate of Merit you can frame for all to see. Sponsored prizes may come later.
Basic Rules:
1: Entries must be your own work done within the previous 12 months. No cobwebs please.
2: E-mail pics no bigger than 30K to me at jonsigns@icr.com.au with a BRIEF "how,when & where"
3: Anything goes!!! Your best/your worst! All entries will be judged on merit.
4: Entries must be in by the last day of each month. The top three will be posted here the following week for your votes and comments. No names will be published at this stage to keep the judging impersonal.
5: Selection of the three will be done by ME. With the help of my talented wife Sue, and my awsome signwriting daughter Vicki. My decision will be final despite having two feamale's opinions. (Bribes will be accepted tho)
6: The winner each month by you and your votes within 7 days of the pics posted.
Just keep it a "fun" thing please

Thats a great idea! And it's very brave of you to volunteer for the job!
Many people looked forward to seeing the winning projects each month when Mark did it. There was lots of fine work honored in that contest!
It would be great to see that revived!

I got two replies already! Three makes a contest! Not bad considering most of you "up-overs" are snoring yer heads off in La La Land at this time of night
Just remember to keep your pics under 30k so I don't have to re-size to post here. And please keep the descriptions brief.

On second thought, I do have one suggestion (a little one) 30k seems awefully low. I have to usually compress a lot to get the 60k allowed for the BB upload page. But it's up to you, no big problem. You da man.
Already recieved some awsome stuff. Going to be hard to pick just 3.
Lotti, I said 30k cause I usually post at around that size. As long as it's under BullBoard upload rate of 60K is OK really. I'm just trying to save download/upload time here and having to resize.
Troy ... thanks for the offer to help. Yes, you can. How about designing a "Letterville Certificate" for us? It basicly needs to say "XXXX Sign of the Month March 2005 voted by residents" with room to put a pic of the sign. Or words to that effect. Leave it to you. I can paste in names, dates and pic in Corel Draw and send it e-mail to the winner each month. Would save me heaps in time and postage from Oz. Thanks.
Still to hear from Steve and Barb about this idea. After all it's their site!
I have 10 entries so far and 3 weeks to go to the end of the month. Some really nice stuff. Going to be very hard to pick the top 3 for you to vote on.
Want more to choose from? I think I can post up to 8 here at a time.

Bump!! Amazing isn't it?? A negative post goes for 5 pages and something positive needs to be bumped.

Gee...one word post breaks all records, while this idea languishes...what's going on? Steve, you need to get the water tested....there must be something in it!
