I have a custumer who want a long 3colors stripes on his car. I will go to another shop to print and cut it. My question is: what do I need if I want the sticker last on the car for a minimum 5 years. I don't know much about print and cut, but I want something with a good qualitie.

Also, I'm working with Flexi pro 7.5. Do I design the decal just like it was 3 vinyl layers or the 3 colors on the same layer?

Thanks

Bump: hoping somebody more knowledgeable will respond.

But a few guesses on my part: 5 years might be the outside of what to expect, as far as durability.

The printer machines might not reqire the same kind of file that a vinyl cutter requires. They might use a raster type file (jpg, bmp) instead of a vector type. If these colors don't have a blend, could it be possible to cut them from cast vinyl? If they're straight, then a sprocket fed plotter might work.

Just some ideas.

Thanks for your help. [Big Grin]

Here's why I want them printed. It's 3 stripes 1/2inches X 12feets. One above the other.

Not sure what you are asking..

If its vinyl then each piece should be designed and be ready to cut.

If its a print then you can develope it as you wish then print it. One version of Flexi 7.5 has its own rip within it. Maybe you can preview it in the rip section if your version has the RIP.
