This is a fast, easy way to resize and/or re-format pics. It took me about 3 tries and 15 minutes trying to get something right in Photoshop the other day and would've been about 30 seconds using this free program. Here's the link: http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm

Sonny, the quickest way I know in Photoshop to resize something is to use the Crop tool, but after clicking on it, go to the options bar at the top of the screen and type in the size you want right there, and type in the resolution (eg 72 ppi, or 200 ppi depending on what you want it for), then drag the crop corners across the picture and hit the <enter> button. It will automatically create a file of the size and resolution you typed, containing only the sectyion you cropped. It may have to 'invent' pixels to do this, but you get the size perfectly.
You can also use Image size in the drop down menu, but for speed where you want accurate size, and multiple versions of the same size, try doing it the cropping settings way.

you can also use Ian's technique in increments to get better results for the "invented pixels". instead of 1 big step, make it in 2 smaller steps.

Thanks Ian and Scott. Time is money, and anytime I can speed up a process for the same result, I try to incorporate it. I'm just getting past the "how the hell do I do this?" phase of Photoshop and starting to enjoy the endless possibilities.
