I need a quote from someone if this if even possible? I had a customer wanting some 7" x 7" decals printed on "clear" for vehicle windows. To my knowledge printing on clear degrades the print look when applied to glass, but I thought I'd ask anyway! This artwork also has fades in it. I have informed this customer of printing on clear issues, so if it can't be accomplished on clear then please quote on white vinyl, also contour cut.
If anyone is interested please let me know. The quantity would be 100 pcs per order!
Thanks all

Hiya Chuck, Screen printing on clear is easy. Just print a white background first. Some questions you have to ask your client... Single sided or double sided? Are the decals going to be applied to the inside or outside of the glass? Is the decal going to be viewed from inside or outside or both? These questions are really important because it determines what order the colors will be printed and what side the adhesive needs to be on. If it's double sided, some of the print would be printed in reverse too. If no one else here offers to print for you, I would try Stouse sign & Decal.
Havin' fun,
Checkers

They would like to be able to "see through" part of the graphic as to not obstruct vision while driving, so it can't have a white background first other wise I'd just print them on white vinyl. It is for outside application of the window though. I just thought I'd through this out there since I'm not current on printing technology as to opacity of the prints on clear.
Appreciate the help though!

Hi again Chuck Here's a picture on how it's done. It can be acomplished with screen printing or on a machine that can print white. The white get's printed first and the other colors are printed on the white.
The separations or layers
The completed decal on clear vinyl.
The white is printed only where you need it. Since this is going to be applied on an outside window and only one sided. you don't have to get fancy. Hopefully this helps.
Havin' fun,
Checkers
p.s. It's been a while since i've screen printed. In this sample, you would print the white first, probalby the yellow second and the red last.

Thanks again Brian. I understand the process. Now if the screens are of enough resloution that would work. These decals are from about 12" x 12" down to about 2"x2" so I know the screen resolution would be a concern.
Thanks Bob I'll give ya' call.
No problem John!
