Although I never got to meet Pat in person I did talk to him on chat and through emails a few times, he was a generous, giving man, and will be sorely missed.
My condolences to his family and friends.
God Bless you Pat!

I met Pat at the Coup De Main Meet in Ponchatoula. I asked him questions about painting and he was eager to answer.
I won a door prize and in it was a bag and apron by Pat. I thought he was a pretty cool guy.

I had the honor of meeting Pat at both Atlanta IL. meets, and I do mean honor, from the bottom of my heart. His name said it all, because he was a true King. To know him for five minutes was to konw him for a lifetime. Pat was Real, and it ran straight to the bone. He will be missed by all who knew him. I will be outside to night looking at the stars, and if you look hard enough, I'd bet they won't twinkle any more. they'll all just be different colors of dayglo. God speed my friend, God speed.........

I never had the honor of meeting Pat in person, but talked with him numerous times on the phone. He sent us a couple of panels last year to the Dixie meet. I have one here that is a real treasure. I didn't realize that it was this serious. He had said that he wanted to come to the meet in April. Our prayers go out to Bobbie.

I have not checked in for a while, so this comes as a shock.
I never got to meet Pat in person, either, but I know that he was a special person whose smiling picture next to his "pking" posts was always a welcome sight.
These things always remind us how we should show the ones we care for just how much they mean to us.

Best wishes and thoughts to Bobby from the Draper family. We met Pat at Gary Anderson's meet in Bloomington, Indiana. Then we caught up with each other at the Letter Rip meet in central Illinois.
What I remember about Pat was his interest in painting mirrored lettering sideways that looked like a totem pole at first blush, then by turning the piece sideways and covering over the backward letters you could see the real name or saying.
Pat also had quite an extensive library of hand lettering alphabets in his head. Those may be lost now forever.
He will be missed.

Pat was such an active part of this board. He will be very very missed.
Cher, good for you on doing up a wonderful photo session on Pat before his passing. Much too often we show who we appreciate after their passing. How wonderful you brought him to us when he was still with us.
My sincerest condolences to Pat's family and friends.

This is all so surreal. I see the names of people on here everyday, and wonder what it would be like to meet them in person. Pat was one of those people. You that got to meet him and be his friend, consider yourselves lucky. Ive been thinking about him all day.

We are very sad to hear this news. Been to many meets with Pat and Bobby. I'll try and think he has just packed up his kit and moved to a place where all you do is gold leaf. What a great place for the perfect letterhead meet. We'll miss you!

This has really blindsided me. There is so much in life that the people we know go thru, and we never realize. Pat was always so upbeat, I guess I just never knew his illness was overtaking him.
We just can't take things for granted.
Right now mostly, I'm remembering his smile. Nettie

I also want to add my condolences, I talked on the board with Pat years ago when I was active here and know how the other always thought so highly of him. He made me laugh at some of the things he would post. I as many are, am so suprised to hear this so soon after the last thread.
RIP Pat you were a loved man.

I had the pleasure of meeting Pat, and painting elbow to elbow with him. He was very open, honest, and friendly with me. There was no ego what so ever. It was a wonderful experience. I'll always remember him, and the laughs we shared.

Wow. Pat must have truly been a great guy. I didn't know him personally, but by all the accolades, stories of his generosity and love towards others, along with photos of him and his work it is obvious that he was much loved and will be sorely missed by many people.
This thread is a great testiment to Pat's positive effect on others. It makes me pause in introspection, to wonder how I would perceived as I part this world. Lot's of room for improvement here.
God bless Pat's entire family....by the sounds of his faith and life, he's securely in the presence of the Master of all master's; birthed into an eternity free from pain and suffering.

Bobbie - I am so sorry. Being in your home and witnessing the love between you and Pat - how fate brought you back together after all those years - to know that Pat was never happier than he was during your time together - I only hope this is what gets you through - and you cherish those memories. You are both people someone can instantly warm up to and love - I pray for you. Love, Camille

What a day for me to come back to visit this board. It was for sure I thought we'd run into each other again after I heard he and Bobbie was in Florida. The couple of opportunities of painting with that man were a true blessing and now he is recieving a true blessing by being right smack in front of Jesus himself with that awesome Pat King smile. Bobbie, sweetheart, you are in my prayers. I pray the Lord blesses you and comforts you at this time. Airbrush Bobby

I have only attended 3 meets so far and Pat King was at all of them. He was so energetic and enthusiastic. He taught others with every breath he took and genuinely loved life. I don't believe he ever took anything for granted.
His faith that God would provide was solid and he danced joyously with his paint. (How else can you explain those coveralls?) LOL.
He was truly grateful for his gift of talent from God and, oh, so in love with Bobbi! Both of my children were able to meet him and fell in love with him right away!
I may be ramblin here, but as stated before, such a loss to the Letterville Community! I am grateful for the time I did get to spend with he and Bobbi.
Bobbi, I pray strength and peace for you and your family and friends! His joy and faith touched so many people, you may never run out of folks to hug you through this. > <
All our love and prayers, Linda, Emily and Jennifer!
