I have been told you can use the Gerber Edge and either Omega or GA software to make positives for screenprinting. Is anyone using this method? Could you please tell me how to do this? Can you do color separations using either of these 2 software? Any help would be very much appreciated. Please point me in the right direction.

zeronine also makes a "ruby positive" foil for this purpose. I haven't used it though. The edge has replaced almost all of my screenprint work, but back when I still did a lot, the jet black didn't exist & the spot black wasn't opaque enough. I read of many other being less then satisfied, & I returned my "edge positive" material. Since then I've heard things have improved.
As for software, I think almost anything can be done almost anywhere, but I like to take advantage of the excellent import filters in Omega & I do most of my work in Illustrator.

Cynthia, I'm not sure how you are set up at this time. I sounds like you don't have anything yet. So just in case. MacImprint does the same thing out of Illustrator 10 on the Mac. Just click the "print as seperations" button.
I too use Edge Pos and GSP's Jet Black foil. Half tone screening is a bit rough on the Edge 1 though. I usually run about a 32 lpi for my positives. It may be better on the Edge II. It's defintly more of an Edge resolution issue rather than software.

OK everyone, thanks so much for all your help. I have an Edge II so I ordered the supplies I need. I think I understand about just sending the different colors but I don't understand how to do the percents. I hate to keep asking questions but is there a guide I could buy to explain all I knew to know? Thanks to all of you I do understand the basics now. The Graemlins tell you how I feel right now.
