I would also contact the city or county about his solicitation signs and have them removed. He's not a politician and has to abide by the rules like the rest of us.

This fool will be broke in less than 6 months at these prices.
When you get a customer that is trying really hard to get you to lower your price give them this idiots name, let them deal with them and help him go broke instead.
The only way they could survive is to advertise LOW prices then upsell them BIGTIME. and obviously he is using inferior materials and probably doesnt guarantee the stuff past the doorstep.

I am with Harris. Have copmuter will do signs. A few years back there were two new guys in town. Both were "have computer will do signs." with in a year both were gone. Cheap does not hide lack of quality. If their best is a vinyl one storke quikie, don't sweat it.

Harris is totally right. I had a employee that I fired that opened up and did the same thing. I got upset about it at first and started to sue him for breach of contract but was advised against it. About 3-4 months and he was gone. Don't over-react and don't waste your time unproductively; you'll be fine.

Take a quick digital pic of one, make some duplicate signs that look exactly the same and lower his prices even more, and about 3am put those out.

what I see on his website is extremely basic layout and color choice.
If this is your competition then I'd say you need to up your level of signage to requiring a skill level that would command a higher price and not allow entry level people to take food off your table.
But on a lighter note he does have a wide selection of colors....red, blue AND black lol

I never was affraid of people who charged less than me, my main concern always were the people who charge MORE.... "Only az hooker can place a price of a hooker", and "hookers" selling their same wares for more than I did, made me scratch my head. on what did they know I didn't...

Oh, fa Chrissake, OP. This guy is "competition" to a real signman about the same way a faith healer on TV is competition to a board-certified graduate of Harvard Medical School.

If what this dabbler advertises is the direction of the sign business, he can have it, AND his prices. I'd rather paint walls or dig ditches. The only typography on the website is in Political Signs. For those, one must collect in advance, because if a candidate loses, he's broke, and if he wins, he's hard to get at.
I love Gavin's tactic, and would save it for a more formidable opponent.
