Dan Antonelli's new book "Logo Design 2" is really something special. It is filled with great designs. What an tremendous inspiration for the rest of us. Dan's words are just what we need to hear to improve our business.
Many of the logos are designs by names that are familiar here, including Nettie. Great looking stuff!!
This book really needs to be in your library.
(Dan, you can send me my commission now) Maybe with all the money he will make off this book he can buy a REAL computer.

Is Dan a Merchant here, or just a resident?

Just as a side note, when I was in Florida recently I saw some of Nettie's work up close and personal. Let me tell you folks...she does great work. First class all the way.
I would like to come and help you, but I've just cut up three 4' x 10' pieces of MDO into a free form shape and they have to be coated out. Maybe next time.

I'm glad to hear the book recieving praise from such a reputable source. I attended both of Dan's seminars in AC & was very inspired by all the information in his logo design class as well as his web design class. I bought the book, but ended up sealing it into a box with a bunch of panels, substrate samples, & supply literature from the show, so I will not get to look it over untill I return home.

Thanks guys for the kind words. The book includes work by John Deaton, Nettie, Rich Dombey, Brian Schofield, Jeff Fisher, Mike Erikson and several others. I managed to cram in there over 175 logos, and went deeper into some design traits specific to small business logos.
Was just down in Florida but Nettie blew us off so we didnt get to see her.
You could get the book through my site or SignCraft's for now.
Steve - we're sending a few to you to raffle off or do what you like with them.

Thanks for plugging my book! I'm glad you are enjoying it.
Dan's logo books are a great resource. I had recommended his first book on another forum and he contacted me to participate in the "Logo Design for Small Business 2" project. I was pleased to do so.

welcome to the board Jeff. I just checked out your website. Looks great.
I will be getting your book too, as it looks like another worthy addition to my library (& some small thanks to both Rick & Dan for adding credibility to a name I was otherwise unfamiliar with... of course that will change now that you are here )
I have only scratched the surface of your website, but I will suggest others check out your "Logomotives evolution" page. I found it interesting & inspirational.

Its always interesting to read of another's struggles as they design their own logo and identity. It seems we sometimes think we are the only one with this problem.
It was interesting to read of Jeff's struggle and the wonderful final result. As I read the story I marvelled at the similarities I too experienced. Our logo and identity went through similar phases and the timeline wasn't too much different.
We are it seems our most difficult customer.

Thanks for the welcome - and the kind words about my work. Behind the scenes my web site is currently undergoing a complete redesign after having the same format since 1998. It was originally created over the period of three days due to the immediate need brought about by a major newspaper doing an article about my business - when the article was published the editor had cut all my contact info!
Having been a professional graphic designer for 27 years now I have worked with many signage professionals over that time. I've also spent a lot of time slapping designers up the side of the head for not taking the requirements of sign makers into consideration when designing identities. I look forward to participating on this board.

It was indeed an honor to have the opportunity to feature Jeff's work in the book. He is surely one of the most talented logo designers around.
We could all learn a lot from Jeff - especially his public relations skills for his own business. The ability to get press for the business is not only good business, but lends tremendous credibility to one's work.
Thanks again for being a part of the book - along with Nettie and John Deaton --

Nice to see the subject of Design coming back into discussion again!
Just a public 'Thank you' to Dan (Antonelli) for sending out his logo book 2 & 'absorbing' the postage cost differences between straight USA mail & overseas mail. It arrived here in Oz within a week of me ordering it. I should have got book 1 at the same time! (soon!)

Jeff's work is outstanding. This morning I have been drooling over all the work posted on his website. I also ordered his book from Amazon...along with a few others. You know you can't order just one!
There's lots or articles listed there written by Jeff and references to many more. Lots of information...so little time.
Gotta go coat out some MDO. Have a great New Year.

Wow! You all know how to make a newbie feel welcomed. Thanks so much.
I'll keep you posted on the update of my web site. I haven't posted any new logo designs for almost two years. Writing my book was all-consuming in the recent past. (For those who may be interested, you'll find some additional info on my book on the Creative Latitude site.)
Again, thanks to Dan for including my designs in his book (I have a large number of VERY thrilled clients right now!)
