I just spent a few days at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and on my last day there they just started erecting this display. Yes they were all hand gilded with imitation gold leaf. "The gold squares were visible when looking up close". "Never did see the final display" but they were setting full size female manicans on the balls from top to bottom as I was heading to the airport.
The larger bottom ones were apx. 5 ft. in height. There were also some single 6 ft. balls placed in other areas on pedestals.

Interesting... how did you know if it was imitation gold leaf (Dutch metal) or real gold? I would expect a temporary interior display to be done in Dutch metal, but hey, this is Vegas baby, ya nevah know...
