Hi everyone I just wanted to say thanks for all the advice you guys gave me regarding the tool store welding sale. I am now the proud owner of a Millarmatic 175. It came with a autodarkening helmet, mig cart, and free welding class. I also bought a 55 cuft bottle with the 75/25 mix. I finished hooking up 220 in the garage and then tried this welder out. You were all right the 175 is so much more powerful than the 135. The first bead I tried burned right thru the 1/8 steel. Needless to say I was making those funny sounds Tim Allen used to make on Home Improvement ( oh ho ho ho ho) or something like that. Thanks again you guys. P.S. This was my first time using an auto darkening helmet. Those things rock!!!

I spent most of the day welding too. I bought the Hobart 180 last weekend with the same options you got. the auto darkening helmet DOES rock. I made 1/2 of a double sided 5x10 billboard frame today. 75' of steel for one side. I feel like Pauly from American Chopper!!!

I think you will be very happy with your welder and accessories. You will be amazed how much great stuff you can amke with that hand gadget.
I spent much of the day under my welding helmet (self darkening of course) working on my train. Had a blast and made a lot of progress too.
Now the next tool you NEED would be a plasma cutter. THAT"S the ticket to ultimate fun!

I had to drop in a picture of the shop's newest toy.....This is a pre-painted Hobart helmet....I just didn't have time to flame one up myself......Maybe I can paint up the old Optrel when I get a moment?
Might as well look fashionable while the spark fly!
