GO STEELERS... One for the THUMB this year!

'Twas Sunday the 7th and all throughout Philly,
The fans were watching their Eagles on TV looking silly;
Their defense came out with such great designs,
But they couldn’t stop Bettis and there’s a Touchdown from Hines;

The Eagle fans watched and thought “ooh how absurd”,
As they watched Hines Ward flap his arms like a bird;
But down only a score, there was no reason to worry,
With Donovan and T.O., this game would be tied in a hurry;

When out on the field something had happened,
Foote broke through the line, found McNabb, and then sacked him;
Punt it away Andy Reid had to shout,
Hopefully, we’ll get them to go 3 and out;

Big Ben throws to Burress, more runs by the Bus,
The Birds Fans were wondering what’s happened to us;
This kids just a rookie, how can this happen,
Ward in the endzone again and his arms are a flapping;

He’s ripping on T.O. the fans began screaming,
If they think this will keep up, they must be dreaming;
But when the offense took over it was three and out,
GIVE ME THE BALL T.O. started to shout;

The Steelers took over and moved it with ease,
Bettis ran through the line like it was made of swiss cheese;
Big Ben took the snap and rolled to the right,
TD to Reimersma, oh what a sight !

We are 7-0 and how could this be ?
But the Eagles were beaten 27 to 3;
We knew this was a good team to confront,
But holy hell, they didn’t even punt !

To top it all off there was the jackass in action,
T.O. yipping at McNabb gave me much satisfaction;
We’ll meet again in the bowl was yelled out by some,
I for one hope so, because we’ll get one for the thumb.

Heres the latest steeler poem.

The fans showed up early to Cleveland Browns Stadium,
They couldn’t have guessed what would be awaiting them;
The game hadn’t started, but there already was some hitting,
Anyone seeing the replay knows it was Green who was spitting;

After some fighting, the group finally parted,
Green and Joey were out, but it was time to get started;
For Steeler fans, the start of the game was obscene,
The Browns returned the kickoff all the way to the Steeler 18;

Despite putting us in a terrible hole,
All the Brownies could muster was a short field goal;
Big Ben’s back to pass and it is intercepted,
This certainly wasn’t the start that we all had expected;

Two passes to Ward, some runs from the Bus,
The Browns started lowering their heads in disgust;
1st and Goal Steelers, the ball on the Five,
The Bus in the endzone, putting a cap on the drive;

The ‘D’ all over Garcia, like a rabbit on lettuce,
More Passes from Ben, another Touchdown from Bettis;
But the Browns and their offense finally started clicking,
They needed some points, because the clock was a ticking;

A TD right here, the Browns fans would enjoy,
The ball’s in the air, but its picked off by Troy;
It was intended for Bryant who called our "D" soft,
That’s what you get when you shoot your mouth off;

Forgetting their first beating, they were getting a refresher,
As the Browns could not handle the Steel Curtain’s pressure;
The Browns kept on trying, but we would not yield,
The Browns talked in the papers, we talked on the field;

What happened to Warren, and those things he had to say,
I watched the whole game, did the guy even play ?
I’d like to thank Gerard for his words on the TV station,
Thanks for providing us with our motivation;

The Steelers are winning and playing so great,
The Brownies have 3 wins, while the Steelers have eight;
The Browns fans went home as they cried and they moaned,
How does it feel to be totally owned ?

Seeing the Steelers success is making you sick,
But look at this way, you’ll get an early draft pick;
O.k. this game is over, enough talk for now,
I’m going back to waving my terrible towel;

Amazing how a football thread with no O.T. in the subject seems totally acceptable with no smart a$$ comments whereas any mention of hockey is immediately jumped all over.

Dennis, that is because this thread was clearly denoted as a FOOTBALL thread. It wasn't one about a meet or an application procedure or a paint technique that was hijacked by HOCKEY. [Razz] Now go sulk in the penalty box until the strike is over.
Love....Jill
