Notice though he DID chock the wheels - at least in the rear... wonder if there is a chock ahead of the front wheel??

Is he welding the gas tank?? If so its a good thing he has the truck tipped up high like that for good ventilation. Less chance of an explosion! Yeah right!

SCARY stuff!

Ouch!!!! that brings back memories. I had a car fall on me Nov.4 1984. I am a miracle. I survived by the grace of God. It broke my back and ribs. I was in a body cast for 6 months. Nobody was home and I pulled myself out and called the ambulance. I remember my mom saying "that ain't gonna fall on you is it?" NO! It ain't gonna fall! I shouted back at her. She was not gone 10 minutes and it fell. I was sitting much like the man in the picture except my legs were under me. Yes, it is a scary picture. I was young, dumb and thought I would live fore ever. Believe me I don't take chances like that again.

Thanks Judy. You always come to my rescue.

Tony, I'm so sorry about your accident, even if it is 20 years ago. Do you still have any problem as a result of the accident (physically)?

. . .I saw this picture before and I'm STILL tryin' to figure out why you seem to be implyin' somethin' is wrong . . . or either what y'all are so impressed about . . .

I mean, this ain't common & ordinary where y'all live??
The law get's after us ALL the time around here for our loud trucks . . .so you just gotta stop somewhere and get a muffler, or tack a new exaust pipe on in place of that rusted out one, to keep from havin' to pay that high fine . . .!!

And this boy WAS lucky enough to have access to a weldin' machine . . .

Trivia question . . .
"How many red-necks does it take to lift the truck so they can wedge the 4x4's under it??

(lol)

Sheila, I've found a few coke cans cut open and wired round the exhaust pipe work well to cover holes. A bit of leather on first sometimes helps too. Then a wire twitch to keep it in place.
If the hole is in the muffler, a few bits of old colorbond steel sign panel offcuts can be riveted around it. You can get about two years out of a repair job like that if done properly, and THEN you have to buy the muffler you were putting off buying.....

How come there's no flash on the front of his helmet? Furthermore...no flash at all except that teeny weeny spot of (photoshop done)light where the arc is supposedly burning. There's sunight hitting the other side of his britches though....hmm.

There's probably a cable holding the truck on the other side or something.
cute though.

Famous Redneck last words: "Hold my beer and watch this!" Dan, it does look like he's welding the gas tank, LOL. They shouldn't taken the pic *after* the explosion. Looks like it's in a third world country to me,no tail lights and no tag. You would see the reflection of a gun rack in the mirror if he were from Georgia or Alabama.

I missed this thread somehow.

Obviously, this guy has not bothered to read the FRONT section of his Haynes car repair manual.

That picture is hilarious. I hope the guy survived.

I think I'd just ride a bicycle before I did that.

Wayne,

I can see why you'd be suspicious of this pic, but there is no flash because the picture was taken in the daytime...no flash required in bright sunlight. The shadows look "spot-on" to me. See, the 2x4s are casting a shadow in various places and consistent with other shadows in the picture. It appears to be somewhat before or somewhat after noon (but then, except for noontime, it always is somewhat before or somewhat after noon).

Thanks Bernice, what a good laugh. I had to look at that several times, got a good, gut-busting guffaw out of it each time.

William, thanks for your appreciation of the picture, also your help in what to look for if the picture has been 'touched up'. I don't know anything about the picture except that it was sent to me by a relative. I wouldn't doubt that it might be real.
