Hi,

I have been trying to find an article in my old Signcraft magazines.

I have a friend recently laid off from his job who really shows and interest in learning to pinstripe. I loaned him brushes and paint and he does practice almost everyday. He is really showing great interest.

I remember seeing an article in Signcraft, maybe under "Beginners Only" that showed basic strokes to practice for pinstriping. I have looked through the index on the Signcraft website, but cannot find the article.

I wanted to show it to him and have him practice these strokes. Does anyone remember that article? It's driving me crazy looking for it. Of course, I get side tracked reading other articles while I'm looking and then realize hours later I was suppose to be looking up something for him, not enjoying the articles for myself.

I'm hoping someone is familiar with the article, or can suggest another one to help him. We spent some time practicing here, at my shop, but he wants to practice at home and needs more guidance.

Thanks for your help.
Pam

Pam,

Try the MAY/JUNE 2002 issue. It's on page 56.

Just read it.

Either Auto Art mag or Auto Graphics mag have had beginner basics in the last 2 issues. I don't know how many issues it will cover, but I understand that it's to cover several things in some future issues too.

Mark,

That was the one. I was looking too far back in older issues. Thanks so much.

Mike, I will look at my Auto Art magazines too. I have been too busy lately to crack open the last few issues.

Thanks for the help.

Also check Airbrush Action magazine. The past year or two they have been doing a section each month on pinstriping from basic strokes to more advanced techniques. I have also watched Craig Fraser's video on pinstriping and found it very informative for beginners.

I saw Craig Fraser in Elkhart Indianan a couple months ago doing some demos on airbrushing. I bought on of his books. Love to have reference material. I will look into Aribrush Action.

Thanks for the post.
