Three Musketeers candy bars! I usually make homemade HotSam pretzels for my special trick or treaters that come to the door. The people I don't know get to grap out of a bowl of candy but the neighbor kids or friends' kids get a special bag. It's fun too see all the neighboorhood out and about. When you see Bill, ask him about his "power trick or treating" he used to do with the boys when they were little....men!

Not really candy but I can get candy any time of year. Around this time of year caramel apples RULE! Seems like this is the only season the stores stock up on caramel dip and melty stuff... and cider too.
A good/great recipe we picked up at a local pumpkin patch ... Core and slice an apple, pour some melted caramel over it, sprinkle with cinnamon and top with whipped cream. Good stuff!
This doesn't mean I wont be raiding the kids' candy bags.

I've been puttin down carmel apples like a cocaine addict lately. They're WAY off my diet but since this is the only time of year the apples are decent and fairly fresh, I'm taking advantage of it!
I also have a pumpkin I can't wait to cut open to get the seeds for roasting.
The candy, like Mark said, it's available any time the rest of the year so I can pass on it.

And, what candies do you leave out for The Great Pumpkin when he flies over the pumpkin patch, delivering toys to all the children? Or is that just silly?

Believe it or not, I bought myself a little bag of candy corn last weekend. Just what my body doesn't need...a bunch of sugar. It's not the weight issue (although 5 less pounds wouldn't hurt)it's what the sugar does to my overall health.
Happy Hallowe'en!

I like anything chocolate, however as your reference leads to halloween type candy, I like those candy kisses, the lighter colored ones, softer than the dark ones. Usually wrapped in orange halloween type wrap.
Higher on my list but avail year round, aero bars, reese's peanut butter cups, glosette raisins (covered in chocolate)

Candy corn... definately one of those things I CAN'T have in the house or I eat it... ALL!
OH... don't forgot those marshmallow cats and ghosts, along the lines of PEEPS!!! I love those stupid things, even better if you poke holes in the wrapping and let them sit...
Did you know there is a Marshmallow Peeps fan club you can join??
Other than that, I pretty much like anything candy, especially DARK chocolate!!

Since the 'powers that be' decided to schedule the biggest football game of the regular season to overlap with the time the halloweeners are supposed to come around, there might not be any. And if they do, they'll probably go only to houses with lots of vehicles parked out front. And who will escort the kids?
I suspect there will be lots of moaners; but at least they won't have to listen to recorded messages EVERY time the phone rings.

Ray, when you were in Petaluma you could have ventured a bit down the road to Fairfield (I think) and gone to the Jelly Belly factory - they have cool tours!

Milky ways, especially the dark ones. When we have the candy trade-off with the kids, they are not a 1:1 trade.(I still like to get dressed up and go trick or treating. This year I am Little Bo Peep- complete with a 100 year old bonnet and loog of hair from my Great Grandma
