i shoulda added this: NOTE TO SELF: buy leather welding gloves next trip to HOME DEPOT!!!! iam at least smart enough when iam doing torch work i put on lace up high top work boots, not smart to wear open sandles when cutting metal!!!! building is comin along, iam on all the high stuff now. one more 24' endwall grit to put up and then i can lay all the roof purlins and front and rear eave girts. then its sheeting and insulation is all thats left. once thats done then i can hang doors and get the electric dropped in. then i can start on the add-on for the 12'x 24' office area. oh....boone...when i did this, guess what i thought of....I KNOW HOW BOONE FELT!!!!!HEHEHEHEHEHE

A guy I worked with when I started in the sign business in 1971 was about 20' up a ladder cutting some pipe. A giant red hot piece of slag dropped into his open low slung boot. He had to make his way down the ladder about 5 rungs at a time before he could commence the Oxy-Actylene Two Step. Like OP, he wore lace up high tops after that.
