I have been plagued with teeth problems all my life, and can safely say that if you eliminate sugar and caffeine , the toothache will go away. But you still need to get it fixed. If it's hurting you bad enough, it's worth the sacrifice, dietwise, to get it to stop.

Usually the clove oil will do it. Go to the drugstore and they have temporary filling material available. You just shove it into the filling space and Presto. Comes in a little bottle with tiny cotton balls and goo.

SEE A DENTIST PRONTO! The ache is probably an infection!
IN THE MEAN TIME... Try gargling with a cup of DISTILLED water with a heaping 1/8 teaspoon of table salt added. Do this regularly. It may not help with the pain, but will act as a very mild disinfectant. DO NOT use TAP water or DRINKING water or SPRING water use ONLY DISTILLED water...DISTILLED water is PURE water...all others have impurities and possibly bacteria, which may WORSEN any infection you have.
This salt-water wash will not stop the pain nor will it stop the infection; its just a small help while you have an infection.
If you are taking Tylenol (Acetametaphen) for pain, do NOT exceed the dosage recommended as it can cause liver damage (read the warning label carefully). You cannot feel liver damage. Unfortuately, I'm allergic to all pain relievers but Tylenol.
***NOTE*** DISTILLED water does not have any salts in it(unless you add it); hospitals use DISTILLED water (without adding salt) to wash out wounds and it doesn't sting!

Thanks! It's not too bad right now and yet, I was snoozing on the couch and grabbed a bottle of water that was too cool, eeks. Now, that woke me up again. My niece's daughter is going through a similar thing...guess I feel like a darling sweet 8 month old! Guess we both better lay off the bananas! (my purse tomorrow: ambesol, clove oil, whiskey, flask of distilled water, jealous biker chick, string, doorknob, and a brick). I think I can certainly fit it in, as I have a large purse. Well, then, I can tatoo my dentist's no on the inside of my palm if all else fails. I'M ALL SET! gee, thanks guys! I feel better already!

Make some signs whilst enduring the pain to cover your deductible, then GET YOUR BUTT TO THE DENTIST. I have been dealing with a toothache all summer from a root canal/crown deal that got infected. I have NO dental insurance and had to charge the sum-bitch on my Visa. Going back today. Vicodan does wonders and a generic scrip is only $12.99. You can also take up to 4 Advil at a time as long as you have something in your stomach. A temporary crown is just that- TEMPORARY. Teeth are nothing to mess with. Get it fixed. Love....Jill

I just had the same thing fixed last week, thank oodness. Because I kept putting off having it attended to, it had to be cleaned/drilled & a temporary cap stuck in & left for a week to see that there wasn't an infection that might have got covered up & felt worse, leading to root canal treatment. (had that done too- it's not too bad with a good dentist) Then it was redrilled & filled properly.
Anyhow, to reduce the agony the advice above is good- keep off drinks with sugar esp. coffee, and make plentiful use of clove oil, and maybe try colloidal silver. Drink plain water at about body temperature/ 40 deg.celcius/100F.
Good luck!

P.S. Which tooth is it ? (sometimes getting the whole thing pulled out is cheapest & easiest, when the gap can't be seen normally.)

Definitely have an appointment with the dentist. This is just the side of the tooth, a small piece. Yes, I am not skimping on a crown, but, it takes a while to get into the right dentist. Have salt water and a sonicare toothbrush (I love using that as my gums are awesomely healthy-I've had that for over a year, and recommend that to anyone! Now, I do splurge on my teeth. And just hate taking pills-it's not that bad, and I won't wait, as gum problems and infections CAN lead to heart disease. Can't really complain, except that I shouldn't be complaining so shame on me, and the Lord hasn't finished with me yet! I do have some pain pills if it gets bad before the dentist trip. If I felt better I would be doing some signs as I have some lined up. Thanks for the advice, I do appreciate it, folks!!!!!!!!!
