Gold flying in the air, paint being slung and fun friends, new and old.
Bunking out with John Lennig....too cool. Hope the sound waves didn't knock off any plaster from the walls. Thanks John for being a great roomie!
Working on Kimberly and Clay's van was too fun, especially beside Kent Smith, Frank Magoo and Todd. Keep the striping brushes humming, Todd...you're already well on you way.
Chatting with Rick Sacks, Don Coplen, Cisco, Crazy Jack, Jim Morrow (SP?) and so many other heads...thnaks for making this mountain dweller feel at home.
And especially to Ron & Kristi for inviting me. You're hospitality, warm smiles and generosity are second to none. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Unforgettable! Rapid

Wonderful job on the photos Si. It brings back lots of memories of our visit to Ron and Kristi's home and shop. Health willing, this is one meet I hope to attend personally next year.
Did I mention that Kimberly is one gorgeous woman! I think we should make some of those Love t-shirts available.
Yikes! Just realized I posted under Barb's name. Not that Barb don't find Kim attractive too. Well..you know what I mean. I better quit while I'm ahead.
What a wonderful time we all had! The host family worked so well together to make us all feel at home. Truly a relaxed meet with lots going on. Thank you Percell's!

Sure enjoyed myself this past weekend, nothing like talented ppl. jamming together.
Met many new talents and came up to speed w/old friends. Had chance to tutor newbie,Todd,a very intense young man, treat this kid good, he'll be your competion shortly, heh-heh. Got to play some music, interestingly enough, with an accordian, plus a guitar, it was fun.
Like Cisco,(whom I enjoyed meeting), I'm not good with names and would leave out some if pressed to list such. Suffice it to say, not a jerk amongest us!! Great weekend, regardless of attempts by Si to corrupt us food wise. We ate well, painted everything in sight, b/s'd about everything, in fact, I think we solved all world problems at least twice!!!
I witnessed some of the finest gold work I've seen done in a long time, these guys (and you know who you are), are serious about their gold!!! kudos....
To save some face here, let me list those I remember and apoligize to the rest.... The homeless Don Coplen, my newest, best-buddy; Rick Sacks, quiet and sharp, a true gentleman; of course, Si Allen, the meet's patron; Ron Balough and Jerry Barlow, friends of longstanding; John Lennig, Canada's good-will ambassador and the patience of Job; Robin Sharrard and wife, good gold dude and right on about shop safety matters; Jim Moser, Grass Valley pinstriper extra-ordnaire; Crazy Jack Wills, always sharp and ahead of it all somehow; Rapid Ray, the voice of the northeast who's trip was first time west; Fernado, the shop know it all, thanks for being there for me dude; Todd, the newbie who has a great future if he continues at the pace he's set so far; Cisco, true to his rep, fun guy; Kimberly Zanetti, who's soccer Mom's van got striped and embossed by Ray w/crossed pen and brush in reference to her father, then signatured by Kent Smith, guess she made out huh?; Moon Mullins hisself, good graphics artist and pinstriper, long time friend, good guy; Gary Erickson, whom I think was our accordian player, a damn good one too!!; Frank, formly with NASA, now sign guy, cool dude;John, a little-person, leftie pinstriper, I remember in old days that had habit of climbing on customers hoods to apply pinstriping, funny guy and very good; of course our hosts and their wonderful family, Ron and Kristi Percell, their daughters and Mom, the sensitive dobbie and sorry for Scotty chasing your cats, heh-heh, beats eating your water-hose I guess!!
I again apoligize for any names I've forgotten or just didn't know, let it suffice to say that regardless of this, I enjoyed each and everyone at this meet, I look forward to attending the next one. Thanks for inviting me.

The accordian player was Patrick Smith, an excellent letterer and friend, that is going off the deep end by lettering with water based paints at his job in the Disneyland Sign shop. Glen, Patrick's supervisor, was also present and involved. John Arnott was there, and Gary Rhodes, and Erickson doesn't play accordian!

Gary sings good though. We had a good time too and are still at Cassi's visiting the grandkids 'til the morning. Also wonderful to see all and especially Frank and Sue Maesen who came down to celebrate our joint anniversaries Sat. nite like we used to at NorCal. Glad to get some new gilders on the right track too as the more there are the more interest in our arts there is. Great hosts, great food, great friends and great fun.

I got home late last night, filled with new energy and inspiration from the meet, hard to sleep(without the earmuffs!!) but it's another day, tho dark still.
I felt really privileged to be there, so many great people, stories, paint and gold, is it summer in Petaluma all the time??
Ron and Kristie and familly surely do make you feel welcome, thank you all so much! Meeting so many folks that have only been names(and rumors?? ha ha) has certainly awakkened me to "what's out there"
And, to Super Size the Meet, being able to glue chip with Ron and Fernando(a guy with his feet firmly planted in this world, man) was, EXCITING, down to the last Second!!
Hope to keep all you people in my life, as time goes by!

Hosting a Meet is Exzillerating, an opportunity of fellowship amoungst kindred spirts in which Ignites the Imagination and lifts one's soul skyward.
The MicroMeet's roots run deep here at Letterville, for this is where & why we began hosting,Our families Thanks to Barb & Steve! for it was Letterville that my Microchips found on the net that started the whole thing off at the Micromeet with the first 7 heads.
This years Meet started off the Saturday before the meet with a little Storm relief for Don Coplen, and wrapped up the Wednesday after the meet with John Lennig, a total of 12 days of Letterheads at Percell Signs. Meet attendance was around 80 heads, 3 nieghbors, and of coarse as always 2 customers who couldn't resist stopping by, and 3 pets, one consisting of Scotty the Wonder Dog. The entire Community watches with facination each year and is a topic of conversation year round.
As a host you soon forget the word Sleep, as you try to prepair panels and projects for the guests, and upon arrival you begin a journey of trying to find quality time to spend with your friends, while finding time to work with staff behind the scenes to make sure everyone is made to feel at home. This journey is unique unlike anything else one might attempt, due to the diversity of each individual spirt, and the mixing of Friends and Craft, in which encompasses my whole life making all of the hard work ahead of time emotionally rewarding beyond any words I might Articulate.
I'm Honored to say that the guests at our meets over the years have been responsible for helping start new sign shops, expanding the horizons of so many more with the education that the seasoned pro's have hand down so graciously, and lauched the career's of so many young talents of tomorrow, all from small little shop in the outskirts of Petaluma California, thanks to our friends known as Letterheads & Pinheads.
We've lost track of how many MicroMeets weve had do to how many folks continue to stop by through the year on a regular basis prompting Mini MicroMeets.
Thanks to all for coming, and for those who couldn't make it, we hope to see you next year, or at one of our upcoming workshops in the near future.
Ron & Kristi
Special Thanks! Micro Meet Staff: Kiersten, Alyssa, Candy, Connie, Fernando Ocapampo, Don Coplen, Robin & Melinda Sherrard, Kim & Clay Purcell.

Come to Califoria, It's more than just a vacation, hope to see you soon!

I had an incredible time at Ron & Kristi's. Besides getting out of hell for a few days, I was staying with some of the kindest, thoughtfullest, most wonderful people imaginable. Thank you all for the hospitality. You made me feel like family. I wish I could have stayed forever!
The Micromeet was something special. Being surrounded by so much talent for a few days was an honor and another learning experience. I'd never done gold on glass before and it's about time I learned how that is done. Books are good, but hands on surrounded by people who do this kind of work daily is a whole different game.
Thanks again, Ron & Kristi! You guys really know how to put on a meet BIG TIME.

I also want to add how great the Percells are, I forgot my paints and box there for I guess a couple of years now. Ron said "you better put these away before you forget em again." Hell of a guy, and all the people who were there, were awesome!
