What was your highschool nickname.....some nicknames are based on playing off your real name, some based on an event, some on your personality.....and some are self-imposed by people that want to sculpt their own identity.

A few of mine were:

1.) Blue Gill
2.) Gillfish
3.) Sultan
4.) Bluto
5.) Dot Lig (figure that one out)

#1-Jillbeans (1963-named after a pair of rubber pants that had jellybeans on em when I was a baby)
#2-Jill Pickles-another of Daddy's nicknames (I like pickles)
#3-Silly Jilly (circa 1979 from being so ditzy, by a co-worker)
Mom wanted to call me by my full name, Jill Marie, but I was so tiny when I was born that the name seemed too big.
love....jill

Made the mistake of wearing a tan jacket with patches on the sleeve to high school one day. You know, the same kind of jacket Norm from the TV show Cheers wore all the time.

Eighteen years later people still call me Norm...and a majority of them think it's my real name.

Got stuck with the name Vicky for a while too after an unfortunate incident in a Victoria's Secret store.

There was a guy in school they called "Gill-do"...but then again I was called "Dick" so you can tell what thier obsession was...I'm just thankfull I wasn;t Todd Cramm or Peter Snerch....
I was usually known as "Chab" by my real friends. Coined around the age of 12, I am still called this by my childhood friends.

Dot Lig? That was an easy one to figure out...

I got nicknamed Doctor CasMate by one of my sign making buddies which got shortened down to DrCAS for my chat nickname.

I like it.

I won't tell you what Dana calls me sometimes... and it isn't stud muffin.

Got stuck with "Tater" when I was little.
I think my mom put it on me. Her little tater.
My friends picked up on it and there you go.
I played softball for about twenty years, and probably none of the guys I played with or against ever knew me by anything but Tater. All my friends still call me that. Truth is, I kinda like it.

Bruce, you troublemaker...just kiddin. Tater is a cool name. There was a crazed jock in high school that everyone called Potato....why I don't know. I'm surprised I never read about him being sent to prison...he was one psycho, and he loved to fight.

I went through all four years of high school with the nickname of Horny. My friends would even call and ask my mother if Horny was home.

Later on after high school I was called slim. 6" 4" and 170 lbs.

Thirteen years ago here in Florida my skydiving friends started calling me BadAssBob. Still go by Badass.

Recently I'm called Bob the snake guy!

In five years I hope to be called FilthyRich.

With 25 letters in my given Christian names and Surname ...

Jonathan got very soon sortened to Jon

Butterworth ended up "Butts"

I won't tell you what my middle name got shortened to ! [Smile]

Most my parachuting mates called me "JB"

Think the "Bushie^" nic came from having a beard and living "out west".

My sister-in-law Faye has the best one I've heard ... "Fondle" ... go figure how she got that

My christian name is Michael...and my stepdads last name was Montgomery ( whos name I used as a child growing up).

In the fifth grade there were 5 Michaels in my class and my teacher decided enough was enough.

One became Mike...one Mikie...one Mickey...one Michael and I became "Monte".

I guess it stuck!

Vroom Vroom - because the track announcer could pronunce my name right and it rhymed with his version.

Airhead - because all my early work was done with airbrush.

Rembrandt - becuase iwas the first one around doing senic murals on race cars.

Rapid - because I could whack out door numbers fast.

Worst was my dad..."Raymond Michael"
It wasn't a nickname, but I sure knew I was in trouble when he said it.

Well, I was "little Sap" as upposed to "Big Sap" and there was also a "Sap" and we all answered to "Mr. Sap"

Question to the riddle: How many boys did Mr. Sap have ?

And then later on, about the time I bought the BIG BOAT I became "Captain Leno" and that has stuck...
That also has something to do with my other hobby of Treasure Hunting... yes, I know it sounds goofy, but you should see my coin collection, and last week alone I sold over $1400.00 in White's Metal detectors.

Now, I have another Nickname that Some of my Camping Buddie's call me and that is "Streamline".
And that's got something to do with the way I camp..
I have every Non-Electric Appliance known to man, I have went to GREAT lengths to acquire some of them..
But Rest Assure, I can take off in the Middle of January to the middle of the woods in well below zero weather, and have all the comforts of home including fresh baked goods IN MY TENT with absolutly NO ELECTRICITY !!

I really think the person who coined me with Streamline actually ment Airstream... but what the heck...
