Hi Heads. Just got back from Shady Lane. It is the camp that belongs to my uncle John Pat, where we will have a Letterhead Meet next August 19-20-21. Here is John Pat Himself.
If you take I-80 to Emlenton PA, then get onto Route 208, you end up at a place called Lisbon. It's off the beaten path.
The gate opens onto a lovely little camp.
A gazebo would make a perfect place for Joe Chips to teach cool carving stuff! Whaddaya say, Joe?
The pavillion would be a great panel jam area.
There's even a stage for an impropmtu Letterhead speech or concert!
....to be continued....

Here is the bunkhouse which can sleep up to 14.
This tank supplies the water for the flush toilets (I painted it a few years ago)
We can all get a shower too (not together tho)
The porch is where the meals are cooked.
Around the camp is plenty of room for camping and RVs.There is a whole nuther field for tenting out in too!

You can take the pause that refreshes at the spring on the one-mile trek back up the hill...
Sound like fun? More details will follow. I think my sister June must have been sneaking around the camp....she left a little calling card.
Love....Jill

Like the Pittsburgh accent Stevo. Laura, I'd have to ask if it's OK to bring horses. There are a lot of people who ride ATVs in the area...do they spook horses? I know it's OK to bring kids and dogs. Love.....Jill

yins!!!! Woohoo, he's starting to speak like he belongs here even.
Grundy, you mean I finally get to meet ya?
What is 'spare time' at a letterhead meet? Is that what those 4 hours a day, every day of the meet, that I waste on sleeping & showering are really called?
The edge will be here in about 2 weeks & maybe I'm getting a bit excited about it (just don't let Rick Bicycle or Ro know that) so I already volunteered to print the official meet deckles.

I think anyone considering bringing horses to a meet might think about the poor souls (like me) that are deathly allergic to them...
As far as that free time goes... at a meet? Huh? I never seem to have any but, hey, that's me. Too busy yacking, painting, bs'ing, painting, smoking, drinking, painting, eating, etc.
I am really looking forward to going to this meet. I doubt the Vega will be roadworthy by then so maybe we will have to camp out in the Cruiser. Sounds like a plan to me!
Yins are great to be having this meet. Thank you!

It looks like where I live and ride my horses. Right now I can't take them anyway. I have a 28' 3 horse slant trailer with room for living quarters. Unfortunately no truck right now to pull it.

I can't wait to meet Jane & Bill. Suelynn, you in? We'll have to initiate Jane & hopefully Kimberly into the rountable. And Kimberly, how awesome would that be if you could make it. Man, I'm getting excited over this already.

I hope you can too, Deb! We could have one heck of a Bachelorette party (with Stevo's permission o'course) and he could have his own bachelor party at the "Body Shop", a strip club about 8 miles away. I'd rather have the Mayor of Letterville do the honors. Yes, my brother is a magistrate. At the picnic I just attended they brought in a priest and he said Mass in the gazebo. But that is totally up to Stevo and I don't wanna push him into anything he's not ready for. Just in case...Jane, can you sing "O Promise Me?" Talked to my uncle and horses are a no-no. I have Wade Swormstedt sending me the Letterville Creed via fax so that we can induct Newbies. Catherine is planning on coming over from Scotland. Bill Berberich is considering leading a dry-brush mural on the back of the T-111 stage. We have a Karaoke dude lined up too. It will be great to hang out with old friends and meet others I've always wanted to be with like Kimberly and the Diaz's. It will be a HUGE honkin panel jam. I'm already excited! Love....Jill

Brooce, I'm sure that you have some idea about my point. Kimberly, if memory serves, when I went to my 1st meet at the Zoo in Cincy in 1994, it was about 6 hours away. Come on over! It's gonna be fun. I promise to be more relaxed than I was at Mars. Love....jill

Yay! yay! Glad to see so many interested folks. Randy, if memory serves, I live about 4 hours from Lake Erie. I will look up directions for you because I can't remember if you need I-79 or Route 422 to get to I-80. By next summer I will have a map and everything. I am looking for someone who would be willing to bring and use a heat press so we could have folks buy their own T-Shirts and bring them to be printed. I am trying to keep the entry costs as low as possible. This is an all-family-run place, with unpaid volunteers. The money will go for food and extra port-o-pots and electricity. We are gonna have such fun. Can't wait. Love....Jill
