After a strike that has killed the economy of this one industry town for the past 7 weeks, this morning we photocopied 1100 copies of a 12 page offer that the union executive is taking to the membership this afternoon (vote tomorrow).
I'm allowing myself to be cautiously optimistic that the offer will be accepted and life will get back to normal.

You do know that the 'crosses' have to be in odd amounts right? Crossing 2 fingers (1 cross) is ok, but if you make 2 crosses, they cancel themselves out. Ok, before anyone tells me I'm wrong, my great-grandmother used to tell me that and you would not have wanted to argue with her.

Heres hoping that everything gets back to normal for you! Same with a strike here in Alberta, Banff will apparently be blocked off this long weekend. There goes my plans to head out there.. oh well I guess!

So that's what I've been doing wrong all my life... Here I've got both sets of fingers crossed and both sets of toes crossed, I guess I'll have to cross my eyes to compensate
Vote has been postponed untill today, from the talk around talk around town, it's gonna be really close. I drove by the union centre this morning and a huge crowd was milling about in the parking lot, looking rather grim.
I'm going for a beer at 5pm; whether it'll be to celebrate the end of the strike or to drown my sorrows is yet to be determined.

My cousin worked in a factory that went on strike.....the strike lasted for five years.....until all the windows were broken out and the factory closed.
