Hi, Im an apprentice at Rainbow Graphics Signs, Im looking to purchase Corel Draw, The only problem is I do not want the newest version as the price is to high. Is there any way I can get ahold of an older version? I have read that it is possible to purchase an older version, but I do not remember where. Any help would be great, Thanks CODY

Good for you Kerry! Your first post and you're already a Resident! I hope you find a copy of Corel. I bought version 9 from one of our fellow Heads. Got as far as installing it and it intimidated the heck outta me! Love....Jill

You could try ebay too. I bought fusion 7.5 on ebay for $45 My Corel 9 was $159 five years ago, with my new PC. Wish I was buying it now. They always drop the price drasticly when the newer version comes out.

Hiya Kerry/Cody, Welcome aboard! If you're a student with a valid student ID, you can get the latest versions of almost every software package at a serious discount. I don't know if an apprecticsship would apply though. Check out Corel's web site for the details.
Havin' fun,

As Chris Hammond said, try unleash.com. He told me to get Corel 9 there several months ago, and it was good advice.
However, if the manuals are not included, and if you don't know Corel, it would be well worth forking out some more bucks for a good book from Graphics Unleashed.
Another goodie you'll find there is a bunch of excellent tutorials. And, I imagine you can still browse "corel 9 tutorials" and find more good freebies.

Hey thanks guys, Im signed on under my bosses name, But yes my name is cody! I do have a valad student id as I will be attending Oregon Instatuite of Technology this year, I have worked for Rainbow Graphics Signs for the past three summers but would like to also get more into the design stages of the job. I will try to not only attend school but try and do design work for fellow school mates and, or businesses, then send my file to the shop where they would cut it and mail it back to me, I could then put it on and, walla extracash while learning. (there is a little bit of history and some future plans) Thanks for the links CODY
