I'm having trouble with my transfer tape, I'm using A6 Vinyl and my transfer tape is Loomis & Transfer Ride Ultra. When i peel off the tape the vinyl has a very hard time sticking to the tape. What would you suggest? And what kind of transfer tape do you guys use?
Thanks for your help
Ben

We have this problem when its really humid out. We just struggle with it. Although come to think of it recently its been really humid and haven't had a problem but we have been running a fan in the door that sucks the cool air from the air conditioned office through the shop and out the door.

Hi Ben, Sorry to hear that you're having trouble. Let's see if we can figure out why:
What is the color code inside the core of the TransferRite? A yellow "M" for medium tack, a red "H" for high tack. If you're using medium, you may want to try high.
Also, if you're having trouble lifting the letters, turn the graphic over, re-squeegee and peel the liner away from the vinyl and tape instead.
How about the vinyl - is the liner heavily scored from the cutting? If so, you should try backing off on the blade length or force. Some vinyls stick to their liners more tightly than others, too. For these we often recommend high tack tapes.

Ben...I don't know if I am reading your problem correctly but if you mean the letters aren't sticking well to the transfer tape when you peel off the backing it could be a result of the summertime conditions.
I find that when weeding I have to regularly wash my hands and bare arms to get rid of skin oil and sweat in the summertime. Those will prevent even hi-tack transfer tape from sticking properly.
Just an additional thought to add to Sara's excellent advice.

I just returned 5 rolls of Transfer Rite Ultra tape that didn't work. Pulled the tape and the vinyl sat there looking at me! My other tape (Main Tape) works fine so I don't think it has anything to do with summertime conditions. Guess I'll stay with what I know works.
