I just bought a new computer and installed Corel on it but I would like to use all of my custom desktop settings from the old machine.

I remember reading here a while back a way of over writing the new file with the one from my old box. I did a search and came up with nothing.

Does anyone know which file it is in corel that keeps track corels workspace?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks a million Curtis. I'm sure it was you who originally posted something about this before but I wasn't able to locate the thread.

Well that didnt work. I have version 9 and none of the options that 12 uses. Anybody else have a suggestion how to transfer my workspace settings over to the new machine?

Again thank you.

Sorry Bob..My old mind can't remember back that far. [Roll Eyes] [Roll Eyes]

Maybe time to upgrade??? Not that the workplace settings would transfer from ver 9 anyway, but ver 12 is very cool and has several features that you would get a lot of use out of.

New Computer...New Corel!!!! How cool is that??? [Applause] [Applause]

Hi Bob,

I usually just copy my entire workspace folder. I'm not sure if I have the exact syntax correct here, but if you navigate to this folder in Windows Explorer:

C:\Program Files\Graphics9\Workspace\CorelDRAW9 (for Win9x)
or
C:\Documents and Settings\YourLoginName\Application Data\Corel\CorelDRAW9 (for NT/2K/XP)

you'll see a folder with the same name as your workspace and a corresponding file with a .CW_ extension. Just copy that folder and the .CW_ file into the same location on your new machine and you should be good to go.

If you happen to use custom graphic and text styles or custom fountain fills, also grab the CORELDRW.CDT and CORELDRW.FFP files. Both of those aren't in the workspace directory, but somewhere in Corel's program folder. You would then overwrite those files on the new machine. (Back up any files you overwrite to be safe)
