A guy wants me to put some checkered flag on his Kawasaki ZX - 12R Sportbike however, I am throwing up the caution flag. Not because he's a dink or anything like that(he is). I applied vinyl once to a quad runner and the graphics never lasted. I heard that the plastic used has some grease agent in it tha can be worked around but is found more often than not on "quads" anyway. Haven't seen this bike but, thought I would check and see if there are any perrils to watch out for. I have been told that a swipe of a flame torch over the substrate will lessen the greasiness.

Yeah Corey only do this if you want to spend the next 6 months being fed intravenously like Brian said you'll be fine, I've done stacks of bikes and the only thing I would suggest is a wipe with an automotive silicone polish/wax remover and then get stickin.

Corey, I've done a lot of fenders for bikes and quads. The plastic (especially for quads) is treated with a chemical to prohibit mildew and organic growth. I've used a heat gun and I've used chemicals, contact the dealer and they can tell you what's on that sucker.

the fairings you are talking about on a ZX are painted. treat it exactly like you were lettering a new cargo van.
