Hey A...It could be warmer here in Southern Ontario, as far as I am concerned.
Typically we crank up the air conditioning around the first of May and it runs steady until the end of September. This year it has been running for maybe 2 weeks total.
When I headed out to a job this morning, I actually turned the heater on a wee bit in the van.
BUT...At least it ain't snowing!

Hmm.. I dont know today's temp but it's definitely not bad compared to how it *usually* is this time of year. Normally we're lookin at 115-120 but I bet it only hit 110 today.

HOT.....mid 90's......and super high humidity....it has basically rained a LOT every other day for the last two months.. for the last five years we have averaged 2.77 inches of rain in June, this year we had 17.9 inches in June....if you are looking for a sweaty vacation this is the place lol

Not very hot here in the UK today,Rain and high winds last couple days,( but this is England and it rains on average here EVERY day)-Nice rainbow yesterday though. British Summer eh?

over here in the uk we should be into our summer but yesterday we had thunderstorms and torential rain and last night the temp was down to 5 degrees and not much better forcast for the next 5 days.

Lots of afternoon showers and thunder bumpers here lately. My lawn needs mowing twice a week at this point, I could literally watch the grass growing.
The sun's a scorcher down here, very hot and humid, so the rains are a nice reprieve.
Wild blackberry cobbler sounds delish! Speaking of berries, they've been a fav for me here lately. Raspberries, blackberries, cherries, blueberries and strawberries ... sans the cobbler. Cool, Fresh, healthy and oh so yummy! Been gobblin'em up!

Last week (when I was insulating the shop and had the insulation draped over me to work on the ceiling) it was in the high 80s or 90s and extremely humid. This week (the insulation is done) it's been high 70s, low to mid 80s and little humidity.

here in Grants Pass Oregon it gets to the 100+º daily, but I'm moving down to Redding California 180 miles south of here where it tops out at 135º July August and also has a bit of humidity

Good grief Joey, I can't imagine how you live in temperatures like that! I could probably just about survive 90 degrees; maybe even 100 if ever air-conditioning were to be invented.

I guess we're finally going to get some Summer here hitting mid 90s for the last coupple of days. Had to finally break down and but a new Swamp cooler for the shop as the AC unit took a dump.

I heard of swamp coolers for the first time when I visited my sis in Idaho! Even living in Fla, I never heard that term. I thought it was a regional nickname for air conditioner! Never had I been to a place that never had rain, just irrigation ditches and water trickling from the mountains! Hearing about Australia with the drought again, makes me wonder why we never hear about it in the US. Hope you guys get some relief soon, and not have another year like the previous before last! and Joey! How DO you keep cool? You have to go outside sometime! Doesn't it affect your paint flow, too? It's been a perfect summer here, in northern Illinois,(we're on the central border of Wisconsin and Illinois),as we just missed all the storms, and the temps from 60's to 80's, mainly with lots of breezes! I just wish I could give some of this to all of you folks, as we have had sufficient rain with the grass and cornfields very green and luscious, the wildflowers in abundance, berries too sweet for words! I've been baking for friends and family.
Our lawns get mowed twice a week as it grows quickly. Hardly any bugs, either, but, also warm enough to swim. It's been so heavenly, I enjoy riding outside at night with the air blasting in my face. Heavenly! We've had the windows open all summer, no air conditioning!
I wonder if we are going to pay in the next two months? last year there was a huge storm with 110 mph winds, I believe and huge trees uprooted in magnificent proportions while we slept (July 5), but no one hurt. Even then, it was only a week, as other areas get the tornados and high winds, right down to Panama City, Fl. Then, again, I'm hoping that Lincoln won't be at 110 degrees either, when we're up on scaffolds, or there's a fire hydrant we can take advantage of! (for water's sake, guys)

Deb, swamp coolers are also called evaporation coolers as they operate by running a fan acrossed a surface (usually straw) that is kept wet with water, thus blowing damp air out, which, IF you live in a low humidity part of the country, (like Sacramento, where I had one) you will feel cooler....it would be a miserable thing to have in a humid area!
If it's humid where you are, just sit in front of lots of fans!

It has been in the low to mid 90's with high humidity in the southwest corner of Georgia. Right now at midnight it's 81 F with 82% humidity and feels like 87. Worked in the heat about 2 hours today...very uncomfortable.One day last week we had a high of 96 F that felt like 106 F. Judy

we had 90 degrees today by 12 noon, high humidity,horrible breathing weather. just got a new furnace with a/c installed in time. stepping outside is like wrapping in a blanket that is hot from the dryer and still damp. smothersville!!!! grass is high, 2x cut a week, flowers are gorgeous, tomatoes on the patio. would love to be out in the flower bed, but lungs protest too much.nights are cooler, lot of lightening bugs in the yard this year. love to sit and watch the yard light up at night.loving it ,through my window... fiddles. jill says she is frozen. stevo's weather sucks. cold,rainy, she took summer things, a few warmer things. i guess she has his love to keep her warm. hahahaha
It is now official nasty, nasty summer here. It's 111º. We tried to go to the pool before but once it's that hot, you just can't stand being out in the sun for any length of time. My greatest fear is that something might happen to the air conditioner! LOL
Hey Mike Pipes...you up to 115 over there yet? You always get a bit hotter than we do here.

Yeah I think we broke 115 today, but we've already seen 118 and that was late May/early June.
Today was definitely more humid, I'd say upwards of 30%. Doesnt sound bad to most people but when you're used to 10%, a 300% increase in humidity is really noticeable!
Hell, it's 10pm right now and still 109 - feels great though without the sun beating on ya.
All in all, we haven't been hit with the real stuff yet. Usually by this time of year we've already seen 120's. It's coming though, along with the "Giant Wall of Dust" when the monsoons start kicking up. At least we don't get the rain that Phoenix does, only 3 hours away and we have our own weather patterns.

It's too warm for comfort here right now but good hay season. And of course, as soon as our hayfield was cut, we had a flash downpour for 2 hours!!!!!! AUGH!!!!!!! Sorry horsie, you may have to eat last year's hay for another year.
Slugs out here are known to eat everything in your garden unless you put out slug bait. One of those perks in rain country.
