Hi Heads.
I have been working on the registration banner for the Detroit International for about 2 weeks now.
It has been a fun and rewarding task. I paint in between vynull jobs and other things.
I have replicated Mark Casey's cool meet logo on a 3'x10' black enamel-receptive banner. Off to the side of it, I am writing "Welcome Letterheads" in script above "REGISTRATION" which is done in an Alf Becker alphabet, Modern Stately Gothic.
I was gonna use Atkinson's Heavy Sign Script, but on second thought, it seems to "old" to go with the 1930s style theme. I am putting a bit of Strong on the bottom, using one of his alphabets to write out "Courtesy of..." But there is no script in my Strong book that I feel like duplicating.
Should I root thru my Becker stuff and use one of his scripts? I have it laid out already in Atkinson. But it feels like I am trying to use too many bells and whistles at this point.
Don't you hate the feeling of trying to know when to stop?
Love...Jill

Jill, just use what looks good to you and don't worry if it is the right font. If you like it, then it is right.

Like Bill sez. Besides, since when is Atkinson "too old"? That kind of thinking is wot leads to revolutions.

...I'd say. that for Letterhead projects ANYTHING GOES !!! Why not?

...For actual client sign work though, too many script styles on the same sign may be goofy looking. ...Consistency is the key babe.

...Love, BP.

Jacky....can you see inside my brain or something?
That's what I was looking for!
Don't get me wrong, fellas, I LOVE Atkinson's alphabets. But by "old" I meant the wrong era.
Thanks!
Love...Jill
PS
This banner has to look as non-Coro-Queen as possible! [Wink]

PS
Billy...I want it to look as great as that smokin' S.O.T. banner you did for the Mars meet!

I would like to say a Big Thanks to Jill for her renderation of the Registration Banner for this years International Meet. It brings to mind the spirit of helping fellow Letterheads. Without help from my peers I would not be able to enjoy this task. Thank You.
