there! now i can see what the he11 i'm doing. my laptop is only 1.5 yrs old and all of a sudden the screen went black...actually if i shined a flashlight i could barely see it. it was either the video card or the lcd...thank god i have the 3 year on site warantee...yesterday the dell tech came and replaced the video card...still no screen. today he replaced the lcd and i can see again!!! he said if i didn't have the warantee it could have cost me a $1000...now that woulda sucked! i figure by dec 2005 if this thing dies i'll just get another one...worth every penny if you divide the price into 3 years.

It's crazy. When I bought my $900 notebook the sales guy really tried hard to sell me the insurance policy. He said everything is on one board so if anything quits I have to spend $1000 for a motherboard and another $1000 for the LCD.
He must have taken that NEW MATH cause it didn't make sense to me.

I bought my boss a new Dell laptop last year. He is not at all carefull with things. Leaves his cell phone out in the rain, left his PDA in a box of rocks once. I bought the 4 year no questions asked warrantee on his laptop. It covers defective parts AND accidents. Now I don't worry about him leaving it on the roof of his truck.

I bought my laptop 2.5 years ago, and my 169 was well spent! Dell said I could throw it off a cliff, and if I retreived the pieces, they would warranty it NQA! You can't beat that kind of warranty. I have gotten more than my moneys worth from it, and never had to drop it!
