Mike Meyer, I'll WallDog with you anytime/anywhere! When you and Stewart (sp) came in there at the end with those little hats on -- I'd like to pee my pants. I'll be gettin' with you on a Pontiac meet. I'd like to see you give a seminar all dressed up and everthing.
Dave Utter it was a gas workin' with ya, man. It was nice to not have to go b---s out at this meet, but as you will remember, I did suck it up!!!!!!!!
The thing I like about WallDoggin' is you get to interact with the townies. You never quite know how they're going to react. In this case I was proud of the way the Lincolnites responded. But wherever we've been it's always had a spontaneous festival atmosphere. The people get to bond with us and most importantly, they come away with a new-found respect for artistic efforts. It's the respect we're after. We know we make a difference in people's lives, and now they do too.

Food Lodging Materials Travel
Let's investigate Pontiac early and get it ready to go for 2006....you can NEVER plan far enuf ahead.....I have many more costumes planned as well... ....Stewart and I were discussing the American/UK atttitudes towards.."Steppin' Out." and the UK folks have us beat all to hell. They iron their clothes and look GOOD, they care about style. here, a pair of jeans and a Abercrombie and fitch t-shirt and a hat on backwards is...Dressin Up? I'm no fashion expert that's a given, but we thought a final night, end of the meet dress-up would be a great thing to start going! We've done it for years with our Kilts!
Jump on the band wagon and make your own Letterhead Mardi Gras Get-up!

Hey Bill, it was also a pleasure to meet you and Jane and you're absolutely right when Mike and Stuart came in it was a grand opening, the people loved it! Lincoln not only got a a bunch of murals they got some live entertainment. I had a super Blast traveling with Mike, Scott, and Stuart! The whole trip was exciting, even getting lost trying to find the 1-Shot manufacturing plant in Gary, Indiana. Going down the freeway with a big Scottish flag on the back of the trailer, getting a kick out of each toll booth clerk. But we were on a mission from God to get to Lincoln and join our other wall doggin partners to paint up a town. Like Mike says..."Beautifing America, one town at a time!" And that's what we did. I'm still recuperating from all that fun, painting in alleys with other great sign painters, partying, being pulled over by the police, hitch hiking, eating pizza with everyone who was also sweating from the humidity, then another day with the big storm and loud thunder, burning the midnight oil on scissor lifts, I would get a kick as being known as the Mexican from California, I loved it, then almost losing my camera twice, and to a great BBQ with all of you and the wall dog Blues Brothers! I enjoyed the mini tour and dinner we had with Robert Frese and his wife in Chicago, the Millennium Park. What great beauty that was to see the building change faces at night and then water coming out of their mouths, the kids made it by watching them having so much fun at night playing in it, and the 2000hp jet boat we took a ride on and touring Lake Michigan, it was an awesome event! Hopefully one day I will see if I can pull off one of these mural projects out here in Fresno, CA. Anybody interested? Well folks, it's time for me to get back to work. I love you all, adios...

Yep......it was a great meet. Good to meet new faces and old faces alike. I even got to meet Bill Diaz and his famous shop apron but despite the hot humid weather I didn't get to wear mine. I had a blast even though I was working solitary in my own alley. Lots of town's people stopped by to chat. Also, for those who were at the meet.....I still have my left leg intact and the spots have gone. I told you!!!!! Us Irish are made of stronger stuff than you think, and I saved myself at least $300 not going to some quack who would give me a prescription for something that was going to disappear anyway. But thank you all for your concern. Back to sunny Mazeppa, a couple of days off and everything is OK again with the girl. You women, you're all crazy!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to say how impressed I am with the Goretski's(sp?)...Andy and Laurie are such a dynamic duo ! Each of them has this drive behind them that's just wonderful to see...a certain vitality, and it reflects in their work.
Also an aside about a young man we met up there by the name of Tony, a bright 13 yr old who's daddy is Victor Drapal from Chicago. Well Tony wants to be a sign painter, and already he's airbrushing things and swingin' a brush. He was painting about a 4x6' ratfink on a piece of plywood. He borrowed my projector to blow up the image, traced it all himself, and I think he might have drawn the transparency too. Well the kid worked his butt off all week. He negotiated a job and lettered a glass window for a shoe store, with a little help from someone, I know not who.
Well, I just think it's really something to see a young boy with such a focus at his age, learning all he can so he can follow in his dad's footsteps, so to speak. I gave him one of my SuperGreyhounds, which he is to take extremely good care of, and in turn pass it on to another young man when he is getting older like me.
Tony, you got it son. Keep up the good work, and it was a pleasure to meet you. You have what it takes to be one of the great ones of our trade.

Hey All! We finally at least got myself logged in. Adam is still having problems with his login. Anyways Adam and I would like to once again thank all of you who came down to help paint. You all did such a wonderful job and were such a inspiration to both of us! We hope to have you all down again in 2-3 years. Sorry we have been MIA but I came down with bronchitis and Adam has phneumonia. We can't wait to join up with you all in Mazeppa next summer! We are so glad to have met so many new good friends. We had two more articles in the local paper about the event with several pictures appearing in the Wed. edition. We hope to get them all posted with all the additional pictures by the end of next week. So keep posted!
