I was wondering if any of you out there do your designs in Corel and then export to SignLab to cut vinyl or paint mask?
The few simple things i have exported from Corel to SignLab as eps files don't always come across cleanly (but i haven't spent much time trying to figure out why).
Thanks in advance, Steve

Probably depends on which version of each you have but I'm running Signlab 5.0 and corel 9 and I can select anything on the screen in corel, go to the top of the screen and click on the red 'C' looking button and scroll down to 'corel draw to signlab' and click on it. Your drawing gets pasted into Signlab automatically. The colors are usually way off but if all you are doing is cutting then it doesn't matter.

I use Corel 9 and cut with Signlab... I save my drawing as a normal cdr file, then export it to Signlab as a plt. Everything is transfered just fine. And I end up with my saved cdr. file in one place, and the plt or cut file is saved in signlab.I don't have a full signlab version though, just their shortcut program. I also cut on an Ioline, by the way. I have some pouncing tricks I found by trial and error that would make an older Ioline work better...email me if you're interested and I'll give you the details....

I have signlab5 and corel 9. Easiest for me is to export the object as an .ai file to a temp folder. Then I import it in the other program, and it comes through pretty well. I just dump the temp file every now and then.

EPS is not the most reliable method of transferring data to SignLab.
Use the Corel Application Launcher, Copy/Paste or as Jeff mentioned, export as PLT (although I am not familiar with this one). Export as AI is also a better alternative to EPS.
If you want you can email me some samples if you want me to have a look.
Randy, Yes that is correct. The application launcher converts to curves before data is transferred.
I finally found the Corel to SignLab application launcher (my standard toolbar was not being displayed - i guess i hid it sometime and forgot about it... duh...).
That seemed to work for a simple case. Now i'm going to try some more complicated drawings.
Thanks again! Steve

Hi Everybody, I have a Question about importing Corel AI files to SignLab. I have resently joined up with Steve Luck at Sign Magic. He is useing SignLab and loves it. I'm a Corel Junky and find it easyer to work in Corel and import to SignLab. My problem is when we open it in SignLab in will be cut up vertically without rhyme or reason. Any Ideas?
