Thanks for the nice compliment John. That was r-r-r-r-really a great workshop. I feel so much more confident already, and the workshop binder will be invaluable to rework the class and practice the techniques and terms and shortcuts and ...and...and.
We got to see some really great people too. Make some new friends and renew some old friendships. Cosmic Ray and I figured out the last time we were together was 1993 at the Allerton Walldog Letterheads meet!
David and Susie Butler have worked their butts off to make sure this is a VALUABLE experience. I highly recommend it to any Sign Artist wanting to include digital in their repetoire. David relates all the techniques to the familiar experiences of the hand lettering/layout artist. He provides great explanations of the layering concept so integral to successful PhotoShop, and patiently keeps us moving forward throughout the class.
Thanks again David and Susie Butler and all the attendees for making it a great workshop!

Thanks so much, again to David & Susie for the awesome workshop. It was everything that John said & more! What a great way to learn Photoshop, especially how it pertains to the sign industry. Barb & Maris were great hosts providing us with a fun time, and it was really fantastic seeing Letterhead friends and making new ones. You guys are the best! Definitely a course not to miss!

I read your post earlier about asking him about his book and it completely slipped my mind. I think I also read something about it on his web site a while a go.
I owe him a follow up email and I will mention it and put the pressure on to get it done. John Weber

Everytime I talk to David I ask him about the book. He is probably ready to hit me over the head...but I like to harass him. Several years ago he said that he had it about ready, and then last Spring he said that it was due to come out in the Summer. Susie says that the problem is that he keeps adding pages as he does more designs.
Whenever it comes out it will be one fantastic collection of work. I will be the first to have my check on the way.

Sounds like the Chapman book on hand lettering? I took the class that David and Mark did in Boise and can imagine how wonderful a time it is to get it all "out of his mind". Always a Butler fan.

You can't possibly be the first to have the check in the mail, Ray...I prepaid for David's book over a year ago. Hopin' to get to see the book before I die.
