corel 9 photo paint.... the paint brush tool won't draw any color (nothing) ... I know it's got to be something simple... maybe I turned off a button or something..all the other tools work fine. I have reloaded the program several times, but It won't work... I have it on other computers and it works fine..any suggestions... thanks chuck .... I have worked this program for about 4 years, I know it pretty good.. this one has me stumped....

Chuck -
Did you select a color with the eyedropper tool first? If you didn't, the brush feature won't do a thing.

Hi Chuck.
If you had done anything with a mask before trying the brush, you may still have some small area selected with a mask - meaning nothing will ever happen outside that selected area. To confirm there is no mask anywhere I think the keyboard shortcut is Ctrl/Alt/R. I've been stymied before by an invisible 1 pixel mask I had accidentally applied. When things don't act like they're supposed to it's commonly because I have some active mask or object selected unknowingly.

Sometimes Corel or Windows can just plain get quirky on you too, requiring a fresh start or reboot to blow out the bugs.

Ctrl+Shift+R key removes mask. You can also have your mask set to visible or invisilbe under the mask drop down menu.

You sometimes need to select apply when you change the tool parameters...otherwise any new tools will sometimes have no effect.
