Getting a puter built and was wondering if anyone knows of problems with running Flexi 6.6v1 and up with Windows XP Pro. Input appreciated. [Confused]

F.

I have used Flexi since, for ever, and I would be cautious with this.

We updated to XP to find out that our 5.6V would not work. I do have friends that have made the same jump with little problem.

The later version 7.4 is a great program with serious flaws. If I could go back to 5.6 I would. This is my honest opinion after 6 months w/o 5.6.

Ditto. 5.7 won't work- ie it won't save in native flexi format, all files get themselves automatically write-protected. It appears to be a glitch, up with which we must put!
Solution, make it a dual-boot xp & 98, and put flexi on 98. Put the data files on a separate partition in Fat 32, which can be read by both operating systems.
best wishes

Flexi 6.6 will work on XP with no problems, at least it did for me.

I am running Vinyl Express LXi Master 6.6 v1 on xp home. It's the same as Flexi. All it needed was an updated hasp driver so it would see the dongle. I got it from here > > > http://www.ealaddin.com/support/hasp/enduser.asp

It was the HDD32.zip file.

Thank for the replies. If everything else fails I'll install 98. [Smile]

We too, were dissapointed we could no longer use 5.8 with XP, but have since been using 7.0 with not much problem. (emulating 5.8)
I'd say you would be fine.

B.

One of the issue's we have with the latest version is our ability to turn colors off and on. The f key does not work to do this function very well.

In our older version we could quickly edit complex images by this method.

Also the welding function is much more difficult.

I could list a bunch of problems, these are just a couple.

Is anyone able to get the weld feature working in 7.5 whereby you can weld text and still have it editable?

In the the video demo I have seen a script text is welded but can still be edited thereafter and also new text input is automatically welded.

I have been unable to get that feature working. The "smart object" feature does however work as advertised.
