I've got a potential client that wants me to paint 'labels' on all the dents in his 4x4. Basically he wants an icon (tree, rock, rollover, etc...) painted near each dent. If I were to create stencils and use One-Shot can I just spray them on with an airbrush or do I have to prep the surface someway?

I'm use to using automotive paints that I clear over but I've never done anything like this and I figured someone here would know.

TIA-Scott

Seeing as how it will be on a 4x4 that will probably get even more dents...go ahead and use the 1Shot.

Surface prep = getting the wax and grime off...try Rapid prep!

Looks like he's going to be a repeat customer.

Thanks for the replies! So I should be ok with a clean surface? No need to scuff it up at all is what I was hoping for. What exactly is rapid prep and where can I find it?

I sure hope he's a repeat customer, out here in Colorado 4-wheeling is pretty big. I may be able to get a nitch going.

Thanks-Scott

Hello Scott ...I noticed you are in Colorado...I used to live at 84th and Rutgers st. in Westminster...you're in my old stomping grounds.

I used to be the announcer at Colorado National Speedway and lettered a ton of race cars.Harry McCool...Joe Wyatt...Chuck Rabin...Bart Manley many many more (know of any of them) a lot of them gave up racing and got into 4 wheeling. Do you happen to know if Paul Garrison still runs Colorado National?

My son live not to far from you (Arvada) His name is Jerry Jumper and he will be racing an open wheel Midget at Rocky mountain this year.Look him up and let me know how he does.

Thanx for the memories!

In answer to your question just clean it and letter it no clear necessary. Oh ...if they don't want to remove them use hardner it'll give you the grip you're looking for.

Hey Monte-

I'm in Westminster at about 108th and Wadsworth. I'm fairly new to 4-wheeling and don't follow much else. I don't recognize the names you mentioned but I'll be sure to keep an eye open in the papers to see if I run across your son's name. Thanks for the feedback.

you're about 6 or 8 blocks from my son he too is around 108 and Wadsworth (he must be on the other side of the road tho if he's in Arvada.

They've changed so many city limits since I lived there. who can keep up.
