One of our fellow letterheads and I are in business in the same area but with different specialties-Lee and Paula own a full blown signshop while I specialize in custom automotive paint. Long story short-I want to give them as much business as possible since they have digital print capablities and I don't. They have a Gerber Edge running Omega...I have a client that came into my shop originally wanting a logo designed then painted on his doors. After we had already come up with the logo, the client decided he didn't want paint, but instead wanted decals. I did the design in Illustrator, but we are having problems getting the artwork to print out on the Edge with his system. Any advice, suggestions? The customer needs the decals for this coming weekend...

Save as a native Adobe Illustrator, file as 3.0 I do this a lot and it goes straight through Omega to print as solid. Remember not to save as .Illustrator.Eps

As I'm sure Jack can back me up on, there is actually a lot more that may need doing depending on the complexity of the file. 3 years using the edge & I'm still having days when the transition of my work from illustrator takes me as much as an hour or 2 longer then anticipated. If you have lots of color shapes, & gradients & you have the double-edged sword of creative perfectionism... you can spend a great deal of time trying to set up traps & overprints & reassigning fades as 2 spot color gradients, or one color gradients overporinted above second color...
yada yada yada... anyway, if you can post the logo & explain the troubles so far, any specific solutions for you will be eaiser to explain.
