Welcome! You won't find a nicer group of people than those who hang out here. I'm setting up a blast box for etching/carving glass. Totally new to glass. I wish you well in your glass efforts.

Thanks Dave and Dennis for the warm welcome! To clear up things a bit, by trying to be a glass artist I mean that I try (stress try) to sandblast etch, glue-chip, guild and color flat glass to look like something that it is not.
I think I have the technique down now it's just a matter of getting the first piece done and hung on the wall. Like I said befor it's not broke...yet!! LOL
I Am located in Lapeer Mi. and just haveing fun learning something new and cool.

i wanna be a glass artist too! glue chipping, gold leafing...and there's others here too that wanna know more about it... lots of steps eh...weird sh!t i've never heard of...asphaltum, gelatin size, hide glue, abalone etc..so many cool things! and working in reverse...those are big challenges for me but i really want to do a nice piece to proudly display in my home.

Welcome Home Have you tried the translucent vinyls yet? They were made for electric sign faces. I have had good results with "handcuttting",over lay color change,stain glass effects,and other experimental avenues.
Stop by Letterville anytime!
