I just got my new SummaD60 Plotter and Magisign. I am having problems with the software and my operating system. Keep getting the message "USB write buffer to be done for NCSwrite command" when I try to send to plotter. What in the heck is it trying to tell me? I am very dissapointed in the manuals (No Troubleshooting) and the support line is available during bankers hours. Sorry to gripe but it has been a LONG day and I have gotten nowhere but lost:( A big chunk of change to purchase all this frustration.
Any advice would be helpful, hopefully Summa can help me tomorrow...
Thanks

Not much help here. I have a Graphtec running on OSX with their Ilustrator plug in. The only time it doesn't work is when I forget to plug in the USB cable.
One general possible fix is doing "repair permissions" from your disk repair utility on the Mac.
I'd keep on Summa with this one and keep us informed as to the fix please.

Try not to get too upset. Your'e going to have a few snafus along the way. I also had a few setup problems, but Summa and Magisign worked me through them.
I never had the message you had, but I did encounter some USB problems that showed I was trying to use the wrong cable (my fault).
Believe me, the thousands you'll save by NOT buying Flexi or some other high-priced sign software will more that offset any beginning setup inconvenience.

Though mine worked right off the bat, when I got my Flexi-I lived on the phone...all part of the set-up process. Summa has decent support, it will work out.

I called the tech line at Summa this morning and got an answering machine. However they called me right back (within 10 min.) and were very helpful. They have gone far beyond what I would expect of most companies to help me. Seems I was missing a cable and they helped me all morning so that I could be up and running until they can get me the equiptment I need.
Yesterday I was a very discouraged. Taday I am glad that I chose Summa and look forward to doing business with them in the future.

Out of curiosity, what cable was missing if your running this off USB?

Unfortunately I can't run OSX off USB, so until my serial and keyspan cables come I am running in Classic mode and using USB. I understand the upgrade to Magisign for OSX users will be coming out soon and then I can use just a usb cable.

OK, for now it's a software issue than. I have my Gerber GSx Plus plugged into a Keyspan adapter on my G4/Jaguar and am driving that with MacImprint. The Graphtec is plugged directly into a powered USB hub on the same G4 and the runs with Graphtec's Cutting Master Illustrator plug in.
The cool thing about the Graphtec though is my older G3 is plugged into the serial port on the Graphtec also and is driven with Signpost from that Mac. I can switch back and forth just by switching from HPGL to GPGL right on the Graphtec's keyboard. It works well when my other graphic guy had a day off and I'm cutting the vinyl from my workstation..

Glad you brought up this topic. I've just purchased a G4 Powerbook and am using it to learn, test, get used to OSX Panther. I have been VERY happy so far. I still am running Flexi Sign 5.8 through my G4 tower, on OS 9.2.2. So as I said, I'm happy to read of this Magisign and how it can be used on OSX and maybe Panther. Keep us posted!
