Hello Letterheads!, I did a search and didn't find the answer so... I may use the 5x5 white vinyl posts from Lowe's for a sign i'm doing. Can i paint these posts with 1-Shot? What type of prep do i have to do (sand, primer, clean with any special concoction, etc...)? Thanks, Steve -------------------- Steve Racz Racz's Handcarved Signs

I am not sure what type of vinyl those posts are made of. To be safe, i would use a latex enamel, or if your heart is set on 1Shot, give them a 'tie coat' such as the one from chromatic. -------------------- Si Allen #562 La Mirada, CA. I'd play it extra safe and sand it with some 400 grit paper for additional mechanical adeasion. And the latex will work fine. -------------------- Bob Stephens Skywatch Signs Zephyrhills, FLwww.skywatchsigns.com www.skywatchgallery.com

Steve, Another addition to your question, PPG makes an adhesion promoter for plastics. Spray it right out of the can (I usually scotch brite the plastic)It has a red tint to it, but dries clear. Dries pretty quick also!I use it on the new go-cart body panels. So far no problems. Good luck!! -------------------- Dale Flewelling Art Attack Signs & Design Newport, NH

Steve, Try Pittsburg's Seal Grip primer with a good exterior latex topcoat. I painted some pvc pipe ,in this manner, 5 years ago and it still looks good. -------------------- Eric Barker Rosewood Design LaGrande,Oregon
