HEY! The guy is sure trying to market something.
Gotta give him an "A" for effort. And the price is right.
But I think I'll pass.

This post made my day! Where was this guy when I started?? I think it is a division of the Carlton Sheets school of stupid. At the very least, he could have hired a layout artist to design the website! I think I will forward the link to the next client that thinks I charge too much.
Six figures is true...Count em $0000.00
I think we should all chip in $1 to a letterhead to pose as a student. Act really dependant and clueless. Give em a real run for the money ($49)
Actually, I suspect this "sign school" is Si's brain child. (LOL) He is looking for a retirement gig after all.

I wouldn't make light of this. This is where the industry is going. The waters just keep getting muddier and muddier. I just got full time work as I have given up. I will make signs I enjoy and on my terms.

I especially liked the "sample" sign coming off the plotter - "EZ PAWN". That's where to go with that equipment when things don't work out, eh?

Rochon and I were just talking about this... and its really a case of the more things change, the more they stay the same. In the BC age their were all sorts of ads for books and corespondence courses that promised "big money in signs and lettering!" and the like, all made to look easy. Like anything of this sort, the market weeds out the fools, eventually (though its amazing how many stick around bothering folks for years and years.)

Is the market weeding out the fools or producing them. Back before computers you needed to know how to use your hands and the hacks were Joe Wino who worked out of bar rooms and the public usaully knew this. Now the hacks have shops on main street and sell the crap to people who don't know any better. I wish I could feed my family on hand carved and painted signs but I can't. So I'm forced to compete with the craziness. Cam there is a guy who sits on the board of the Western MA sign Association who sells sets of mags for $28. His shop is on Main Street of a Western Ma town. I will not name him but he has been in biz for quite some time and he is my direct competiton. I have to either compete or get out. I'm on my way out.
