I had a blade question a while back, and got some info on a product called Clean Cut blades. They say: Customers that have been using their blades for 6 months and more, a least doubling the blade life of OEM blades.
and they give Letterheads 25% off.
I was impressed how fast they arrived, in the mail.
Maybe others should try them, I'm a very new shop so I don't go threw blades very often, but I will let you know how they work.

Laura, I am a firm beleiver in using quality tool/blades/equipment. A $30. blade from Home Depot is OK for the part-time user but if you spend the extra money on a good saw blade it more than pays for itself in cleaner cuts & longer life.
I happen to have a blade & router bit manufactuer nearby and have accsess to a lot of specials at a discount, like $125 blades for $25-$50. A good plex blade is over $100. but what a clean cut! Flame polish the edges if needed and it's out the door.
Here is a tip for table saw users. I found that an aluminum cutting blade is also awsome on MDO, way better than previous wood blades that I have tried.
One more tip, set the blade height, where the carbide tip is just above the material. Cheers

Rob, I think Laura was referring to plotter blades. As you say though there are places where you can buy new blades of extremely good quality without paying through the roof for the manufacturers item. Clean cut blades are new blades and are a little more than the price of re-sharpened blades but outlast the name brand by miles.
