I want to learn airbrush for signs and vehicles. Does anyone have any advise on what airbrushes are the best? Gravity or siphon? etc. Thanks

The Iwata line is probably one of the best and most popular. Although a little more expensive I can speak from experience that they are well made and will last a very long time as long as you look after it. I own several and they have alot of hours on them. The HPBC is a nice brush or the newer eclipse line would be good for what you are looking for. I would suggest a gravity feed. Colour changes can be done more quickly and you can work with a supply of bottles for each colour. Better for basic sign work usage or automotive in my opinion.

hope this helps...

I like my Iwata the best, too. I have a Paasche and a Badger, but almost always use my Iwata.

I tend to be the odd man out on this subject. I've been using Paasche VL's for over 20 years..and love them. I use them for all my urethane work, and for the little bit of enamel spraying (i.e., wet-on-wet) that I still do.

They are bulletproof, easy to clean and maintain, and with just three needle gauges and three cone sizes, are infinately adjustable.

I buy VLST Pros. I've tried a few "milliniums", but still prefer the VLST.

I'll give a thumbs up to Paasche VLs. I have three. They're relatively inexpensive and easy to maintain. I've recently yanked my old single action (H) out and use it for vinyl fades with Krylon Fusion. But do yourself a favor and get a mask too.
