I've been in the sign business for 20+ years, I currently left my job on Friday, and looking for something new.

I forget where to start, and how to build a new clientele

any suggestions?

How about starting on your vehicle? Cheap and effective advertising.
Good luck.

Chad, when I first started I went around an' found signs that looked pretty bad, I studied it a while to see what all had to be done, then walked in, found the owner or manager, shook their hand, acted all confident an' everything tellin' them thet I noticed their sign could "use a little "work".
They'd usually asked "how much" right away and I'd give them a price and get the job. Before too long they'd be refering me or I'd get stopped while workin' on it and I built up a great customer base.
The key is delivering the goods and building trust.
You'll always keep 'em coming back.
