Just making a test. This is not something I made...saw it in a magazine.

Hey, it worked!

Ok, Ok, you twisted my rubber arm...

This was done in Medex, and was my first dimensional sign. Cut out the burgandy on scroll saw of Medex, also. It is all paint...the hummingbird was my painting, also. Had so much fun with this.

Sorry, perhaps this should be in the portfolio section...this was supposed to just be a try out to see if it worked.

Finally getting 'bold enough' to post some of my work.

OMG, Bernice!

That is BEAUTIFUL work!!

Now I know why they refer to you as "The First Lady of Signs" in Saskatchewan.

How do you paint like that, considering that you have rubber arms? [Wink]
I love what you did with that "Newman" - sweet!

Well, ahem...thank you very much guys and gals, fellow Letterheads.

Have to confess that I 'forgot' until after I posted (made this in 2002) that there was a bit of vinyl there, although I had airbrushed the vinyl. From the light edge on Newman, inwards, were two layers of vinyl. The light outline was airbrushed in a pale green, then a second vinyl was airbrushed in the shades you see. Also the kernals of grain were small pieces of vinyl....but that's all. Funny how we almost feel like apologizing for using vinyl these days...wasn't so a few years back, huh (US), and eh (Canadian)!

I do welcome constructive criticism. Someone had suggested that I put a darker outline to the hummingbird oval, perhaps burgandy. I might have tried that...didn't want to take away from the main event.

First Lady of Signs??....Oh my, that's quite an honour, but I beg to differ, especially on this site, and not even in Saskatchewan.

Thanks again for your expressions of appreciation.

Bernice:

I didn't make that "First Lady" title up. When we had the "Living Sky" mini meet a couple of years ago, someone who was disappointed that you couldn't make it referred to you as that.

I'll agree with you that Saksatchewan has it's share of talented women in signs, though...not to mention the larger number who call themselves Letterheads.
