"You say suck like it's a bad thing" me.

"Real men drink Jack straight" me, while doing another shot in a series of way too many shots.

"That which does not kill us makes us stronger" I have no idea.

"It's stupid to clutter one's mind with information that can easily be referenced elsewhere" Einstein, as to why he had to go to the phone book & look up his phone number when someone asked for it. (I'm paraphrasing here)

"Why is there a mailbox in front of the post office? A mailbox is for when you ain't at the post office" Gallager

"There's a few defining moments in every person's life when you know what you've done wrong and you know what you've done right" Toby Keith, lyrics to "New Orleans"

Here's one on Einstein, again:

When asked at a symposium by a scholar,
"what is the greatest creation by man...",
Einstein, answered, "Compound interest!"

Put that in yer test tube, eh ?

A favorite of mine from Wendy's founder Dave Thomas, in response to someone's comments about lucky breaks was:
"I find the harder I work, the luckier I get"

A favorite from Frank Zappa has ALWAYS been:
"Information is not knowledge, knowledge is not wisdom, wisdom is not truth, truth is not beauty, beauty is not love, love is not music, music is the best"

Then of course, I grew up on:
"I thought he was gonna hit me, so I hit him back first"

All have served me well.

Keep on keepin' on.

I love these!! keep 'em comin'!! I keep a little notebook to jot down my favorites... [Smile] Here's a few more:

"...Nobody's ever drowned in their own sweat" (seen on a T-shirt in a western store)

" If you ain't the lead dog, the scenery never changes" (...haven't we all put this on the back of a 1000 race cars)

"You must learn from the mistakes of others. You can't posibly live long enough to make them all yourself" anon.

"...I can't miss you if you won't go away"
(from a bluegrass song)

(...which reminds me of:
"Let thy foot be seldom in thy neighbor's house lest he grow weary of thee" [Wink] Proverbs

Sheila,

Some of the stuff from race cars I've done...

"Second place is the first looser." dashboard

"No balls, NO BUCKS!!!) dashboard

"DILLIGAF" on back of car

Instructions:
Step 1-Push pedal to floor
Step 2-Turn left
Step 3-Repeat steps 1 and 2

and my favorite...

"June's Vacation"
...in recognition of what one driver's wife gives up every year so hubby can go racing on Saturday night.

...we been cuttin' up around here today, we ain't got nuthin' done, lol.
One of my buddy's is here an' we been readin' these and he went out to his truck and brought this back an' wanted me to share it with ya'll. He saw it at the minute-shop and got the owner to make a copy of it, he liked it so well:

FOR SALE "OLD FORD TRACTOR"
runs good but missing seat & steering wheel
(ideal for person who has lost his a__ and don't know which way to turn)

Here's one I got hangin' in my shop (from Cooper Bros. Const.)

We do 3 types of jobs here: GOOD,FAST OR CHEAP
You may choose any two!
If it is good & cheap, it will not be fast.
If it is good & fast, it will not be cheap.
If it is fast & cheap, it will not be good.

aw'rite, I'm goin' to work . . . [Big Grin]

There's lies, damn lies, and statistics

I cut it three times and it's still too short

It's a fine line between standing on the shore and fishing

who do you think you are.....-pause-........anyhow? (me)

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy (jack daniels ?)

What, me worry? (Alfred E. Newman) (Mad magazine)

I'd rather remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt

You want it when?
