I've had this "Zig Ziglar" (I think) quote on my work board for 10 years...

Wonderful quote, Terry. This one has been on my refrigerator and even been moved a couple of times from old to new:
"My mother told me if you want to be a soldier, you will become a general, if you want to be a priest, you will become a cardinal. I wanted to be a painter, so I became Picasso"

Art when really understood is simply a question of doing things, anything, well. When the artist is alive in any person, whatever his kind of work may be, he becomes an inventive, searching, daring, self-expressing creature. He becomes interesting to other people. He disturbs, upsets, enlightens and he opens ways for a better understanding. Where those who are not artists...are trying to close the book, he opens it, and shows there are STILL more pages possibile.

I guess this is kid of my motto. It's based on a something my father told me a couple of weeks before he passed away. "I believe there is no shame in failure. Rather, the shame lies in the loss of all the things that might have been, but for the fear of failure." -Kelly Thorson

It leaves every man free to choose the work he likes, to specialize in it, to trade his product for the products of others, and to go as far on the road of achievement as his ability and ambition will carry him." This is my all time favorite. It has been attributed to Grover Cleveland but is difficult to imagine him so insightful.

I've always liked "War is the continuation of politics by another means" Karl VonCluasovitch(sp?) because it's much like "Ideas have consequences" Richard Weaver.
On a lighter note, I read the other day that Johnny carson said something like "Wouldn't life be more fair if Elvis were still alive, and all the impersonators were dead?
