I am looking for a plotter to cut probably 90% sand blast material. I was wanting a sprocket-fed plotter because it seems to be better at tracking the thick media. I have cut sand blast materials on my friction-fed plotter in the past but if I was cutting anything over 3' long the tracking was bad. I know Gerber carries a good plotter for this but I don't want to spend that kind of money right now. Are there any more companies that even make a sprocket-fed plotter anymore? Thanks for any help you can give me.

buy a used Gerber, I have 2 antiques that still work like day one.... you can probably get a 4b with link kit and a S/750 (30")plotter for less than $2000. I've had the big fast ones... and when you make a mistake they waste a lot of material.... big and fast! I'd say more technology than you really need. my2cruzeros

Besides my Envision cutter, I still have my Gerber 4b for just that reason, to cut sandblast stencil.
I know of a 4b for sale from another board. Her name is Marlene and is selling her unit for $475. You can contact her at TWINSIGN@TOGETHER.NET for further details.

I'll go out on a limb here and suggest you try to find a used GS15Plus. They are switchable from swivel to tangential, they are designed for PC, and you can still buy parts. buying parts for a 4B may be harder and harder...also, they are much smaller, and only weigh 480 lb, not 678lb like the 4B (kidding).
