Hi Amy, I'm pretty sure that I saw something similar (leaf in tape form) in my Canadian Signcrafter's Supply catalogue. They are merchants here, and if they don't have it, they will probably be able to put you on to it. If you haven't tried them yet, do it, they are super helpful and informative. They carry pretty much everything in the smalts & leafing line.

Copper tape is used mainly to replace lead came in stained glass art. some comes with adhesive on one side or not. the adhesive stuff was used to make the contacts for slot car tracks in the store fronts, back in the day. Also used to transfer electric current when rotating parts are used. Have seen it used for a fancy window alarm install instead of the silver foil used on windows of stores in the old days. Now they use vibration blocks. It was put on windows and doore by varnishing the line it would follow laying the tape when the varnish tacked up. had to be smooth no wrinkles or bubbles. After it was dry, you had to solder the wire to the end. A real pain in the seat cushion till you got the hang of it. You then out a nother layer of varnish on the top of the tape. It was the pain of alarm installers, on service calls to walk up and see the tape on windows and doors. Most times some munchkin would slid thier finger nail across it slitting it and causing an open circuit. When you found it it could be repaired with clear nail polish and foil from a gum wrapper. The copper foil tape comes in different thicknes. would work on a sign if glued and sealed over good if the sign was not exposed to abuse. find out if they what the foil to age to green, then don't seal over as the copper will corrode fast in certain conditions.

Gardening supply centers, like Armstrong's, should have a copper tape - they use it to guard against snails - supposedly the stuff in their slime reacts unfavorably with the copper and they won't cross it.
Oops, I almost forgot - Ron Percell, one of the merchants here, sells copper leaf. I think he calls his store Letterhead's Sign Supply = he has a lot of the stuff Rick Glawson used to sell.
